Detailed Review

We are speaking about the new addition to the DB Series famously known as Bond's Car. As a descendant of DB9, the DB11 series was first introduced to the world in 2017 with a V12 Engine. Now in 2018, this series alongside its DB11 V12 Coupe comes with a new addition i.e., The 2018 Aston Martin DB11 V8 Coupe.

This is the intial time for the DB11 V8 Coupe and it is already in line with some of the top liners of the V8 engine power line up. It stands in competition with Mclaren 570S, Audi R8, and Lamborgini Huracan, not only in power but also in looks and luxury.

We Recommend

The Aston Martin DB11 V8 is available with many optional packages that include some extra safety features with some extra luxury. So we recommend you to go for the package of your choice instead of the standard package. After all what is a luxury if it doesn’t suit your comfort.

2018 Aston Martin DB11 Engine

8.5/10

“Any doubts about which powerplant your Aston has shipped with are dispelled the moment the V-8 fires to life. It sounds magnificent, louder and rortier than the V-12 at startup, awakening with a brrrrap rather than the bigger engine’s creamier tone.” - Car and Driver

Engine and Transmission

The 2017 Aston Martin DB11 V8 Coupe comes with an AMG manufactured 4.0 Liter 32 Valve Bi-turbo V8 engine which makes it lighter and sleeker than the DB11 V12 Coupe. This engine empowers this beast up to 503 hp and 497 torque. Apart from that this engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and a rear wheel drive with a rear limited slip differential that helps you to hover with ease.

Acceleration

The 2018 DB11 V8 coupe, though powerful, might have a little sluggish acceleration. It takes 3.8 seconds to reach a speed of 60MPH and 12.1 seconds to cross the quarter-mile milestone. So this is the drawback that comes with the less power V8 engine.

2018 Aston Martin DB11 Competition

Aston Martin DB11 V8 Coupe vs Mclaren 570s

Sporty to drive and a Sporty look the Mclaren 570s might not sound like a Super-Agent Spy car but still has an upper hand over the DB11 V8 coupe. It has a better fuel economy, roaring engine, power-packed performance, grippy brakes and a good amount of safety features when compared to the DB11 V8. All that the Aston Martin DB11 has an upper hand is its spacious trunk volume. So, consumers would prefer to go for the Mclaren unless they have a thing for this Spy car.

Aston Martin DB11 V8 Coupe vs Audi R8 Coupe

The Audi R8 seems to look very simple, yet is very powerful. When compared to the DB11 V8, it is very much cheaper, powerful and strong performer. On the other hand, both of them are known to have the same fuel economy and a compatible boot space. These could become strong factors of consideration for the consumers.

Aston Martin DB11 V8 Coupe vs Lamborgini Huracan

Owning a Bond car just the dream of every Bond enthusiast. However, owning a Lamborgini is the dream of every car enthusiast. The Lamborgini Huracan is a very strong contender and eye turner due to its style, power, and performance when compared to the 2018 Aston Martin DB11 V8. Although the bull gets thirsty once in a while, it still could be a better option at a tad higher price.

2018 Aston Martin DB11 Final Verdict

The Aston Martin DB11 V8 might be a Bond Car. Still, there are cars that are cheaper or on par with it that give a better performance and are equipped with a lot of better features. Its heavyweight and less powerful engine along with a sluggish acceleration becomes a major drawback. So consumers might easily search for other options available.
