Audi has had a good reputation among German automakers in recent years. The 2023 Audi A4 is clothed in a Brooks Brothers suit, just like its A3, A6, and A8 sedan siblings. It has a traditional design that is expertly fitted and makes it appear premium, the cabin is meticulously put together with high-quality materials and the kind of attention to detail we would expect from a premium manufacturer like Audi, additionally, it conveys a sense of both sophistication and sportiness, and it drives similarly, with luxury offset by quickness. It offers a well-balanced ride that will appeal to buyers who value comfort and performance equally.

We Recommend

The mid-range Audi A4 Premium Plus trim, which adds a number of extras that transform the A4 into an upmarket ride, and has the best cost-benefit ratio in the A4 portfolio. The driver's seat memory settings, a wireless charging pad, blind-spot monitoring, and keyless entry with push-button start are a few of the features. We would advise upgrading to the more potent 45 powerplant, which costs only $1600 and produces 60hp and 37 lb-ft of torque than the Audi A4 40 TFSI.

Release Date

We anticipate the new Audi A4 to be released at the end of 2023, dealers are still selling 2022 Audi A4s, thus there is no ordering available for the next model year.

Engine and Performance

The new Audi A4 is available in two options one is the 40 TFSI and the other is the 45 TFSI which is also known as the S line. Both engines come standard with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and an AWD drive as standard. The base trim is a 12-volt hybrid, turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine that generates 201 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque, while the Audi A4 S line generates a better engine output of 261 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque. The base trim can complete a run of 0 to 60 MPH in 6.3 seconds while covering a quarter-mile mark in 15.1 seconds while the Audi 45 TFSI can cover a 0 to 60 MPH acceleration in 5.2 seconds. It can maintain the posted speed limit on the highway all day long because of the superb mid-range torque, and the 7-speed automatic transmission responds quite quickly. It's a pleasant sedan to drive since the throttle response and gearshifts are even more aggressive in performance mode.

2023 Audi A4 Ride and Handling

The Audi A4 2023 has outstanding driver involvement due to its steady handling, accurate steering, and powerful brakes. The renowned Quattro AWD drive actively distributes power between axles when necessary, providing extra traction before it is required and efficiency when it is not. The Audi drive select which is standard on the Audi A4 Premium provides a variety of changeable settings, including those for the steering, transmission, and throttle response, are available, additionally, you can choose from four driving modes are available which are Comfort, Auto, Dynamic, and Individual.

The Audi A4 Sedan is a nimble handler thanks to precise steering, restrained body movements, and superb road holding. Additionally, it manages to absorb uneven roads with ease when often cars with such quick reflexes demand compromises in ride quality. On the interstate and at lower speeds, the steering's feel, which is crucial in a sedan with sports overtones, is muted. When you push the car on curves, the steering, almost as if by magic, becomes wonderfully communicative. The Audi A4 S Line standard sport suspension delivers improved handling and a 23mm-lower ride height for a thrilling driving experience. The Audi A4 2023 achieves the ideal mix of a sporty and opulent driving experience that every car in its class aspires to.

2023 Audi A4 Braking Performance

The Audi A4 2023 4-wheel disc brakes rotors measures 12.4 and 11.8 inches at the front and the rear, even with a curb weight of 3,638 lbs, doesn't detract from the vehicle's strong braking performance in practical performance. The first bite is accurate, and the Audi A4 Quattro can be easily slowed down with only a small touch of the pedal, the brake pedal felt good and strong, and it provided excellent feedback. The car doesn't seem jittery while braking hard, and the front-end drop is also rather mild. While the 60 to 0 MPH results aren’t known yet, the Audi A4 Sedan comes equipped with regenerative 4-wheel disc brakes with ABS, front-vented discs, brake assist, hill hold control, and an electric parking brake that ensures its competitive performance.

Competition

2023 Audi A4 vs 2022 BMW 3 Series 330i

The BMW 3 Series has long been Audi's strongest challenge in this market. The Audi A4 begins at $39,100, while the BMW 3 Series costs at least $42,000, both vehicles have a 2.0L turbo-four engine as standard, however, the BMW produces 255 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque, while the Audi can be upgraded to a maximum of 261 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque, and BMW clearly outperforms its counterpart. The BMW 330i is significantly more fun to drive despite the fact that both vehicles offer comparable performance and interior capacity. The BMW 330i, on the other hand, is a driver's automobile, thus we advise going with it instead of the Audi A4.

2023 Audi A4 vs 2022 Mercedes-Benz C Class C 300

The pricing is the main attraction of the Audi A4. It costs thousands less than a base-spec Mercedes-Benz C-Class, which starts at $43,550, with a starting price of $39,900 including destination. Leather upholstery is standard, and Audi's technology is among the finest in the industry, so the luxury isn't missing either. The Audi A4 triumphs in this contest even if the Mercedes-Benz C-Class will legitimately get its fair number of purchasers. It blends the core characteristics of a premium sedan with a useful feature set that ought to appeal to a broad variety of purchasers. While considering everything the A4 offers, we believe it provides a greater value than the Mercedes-Benz C-Class.

2023 Audi A4 vs 2022 Volvo S60

The cabins of the Volvo S60 and the Audi A4 are competing by millimeters. The Volvo is superior if you need greater room for the driver and front passenger. The Audi wins if the back seating room is your main priority. With its standard Quattro AWD arrangement, the Audi A4 manages to outperform the Swedish sedan in terms of practicality, although the latter only offers it as an option. In comparison to the Volvo S60, the Audi A4 features more standard leather and technology as well as more luxury choices and content on higher-end variants. For years, the Audi A4 has been the sector leader for a good reason: it is a fantastic vehicle that fulfills all requirements.

Final Verdict

Yes, we will recommend the Audi A4 sedan, it is incredibly well-rounded and utterly capable which presents a strong case for itself with all it offers. It may not be the best in any one aspect, but it shines in all of them. It has the requisite handling to control that kick for a few thrills, as well as enough power to feel alive. It also has a calibrated suspension that absorbs vibrations and a standard AWD system that easily grips slick pavement. Additionally, Audi makes sure that a respectable list of amenities is offered as standard equipment, and the entire package is concealed by a stylish yet understated appearance.
