2015 Audi Q5 Interior Design, Dimensions, and Comfort
Like most other Audi offerings, the interior of the 2015 Q5 gets a driver-centric and practical-oriented design language. The simple yet elegant layout is easy to get used to with wood and silver accents used around the vents and the center console. Although the dashboard design is starting to look dated, it remains relevant and easy to use. Wood trims are also used tastefully around the gear lever and on either side of the dashboard, adding some luxury to the otherwise minimalist dashboard. The chunky steering wheel also feels good to hold with integrated controls.
The Q5 offers adequate space for five passengers and includes a sizable trunk for weekend luggage. Both rows offer plenty of comfort and are surprisingly spacious for the compact footprint. The front seats are plush with good bolstering and support, while the rear seats can accommodate three passengers in comfort with individual headrests and three-point seatbelts. The rear seats also offer recline and sliding adjustments.

Tri-zone automatic climate control is included as a standard to keep the passengers comfortable, while features like the panoramic sunroof and rear door sunshades are reserved for the higher trims. Even with its aging platform and interior design, the Audi Q5 still manages to keep up with rivals like the Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class and BMW X3 in terms of build quality and interior design. However, the Volvo XC60 goes a step further with an overall better interior design and build quality.

2015 Audi Q5 Cargo Capacity
The 2015 Audi Q5 offers a surprising amount of cargo capacity when you consider the compact footprint. With the rear seats upright, the 2015 Q5 has 29.1 cubic feet of cargo volume available, while folding them down in a 40/20/40 split configuration will liberate up to 57 cubic feet of volume.
Because of the sliding and reclining rear seats, you can liberate some additional space with the rear seats up through some adjustments. Moreover, the standard power liftgate feature also makes loading/unloading luggage a lot easier.

While the interiors are impressive, the Audi Q5 still falls behind in terms of practicality and cargo capacity, coming in below the Volvo XC60 and BMW X3. As usual, the Mercedes-Benz GLK Class is the least practical option here by a noticeable margin.
Additional Interior Storage Spaces
As usual, the 2015 Q5 cabin is littered with clever storage areas including two cupholders for both the front and rear passengers, sizable door pockets with integrated bottle holders, and a wide center console with storage underneath. The glovebox is also large enough to keep a lot of items secured.
2015 Audi Q5 Creature Comforts
The standard equipment on the base Premium model includes a power liftgate, 8-way power-adjustable front seats, leather upholstery, tri-zone automatic climate control, sliding and reclining rear seats, and more. The Premium Plus model also adds features like a panoramic sunroof, keyless ignition, heated front seats, and driver-seat memory functions. Premium Plus models with the bigger 3.0T powertrain also get an upgraded three-spoke steering wheel.
Finally, the Prestige model adds temperature-controlled cupholders, rear door sunshades, and more. Audi also offers some optional packages that trickle down a lot of these features to the lower trims.
Final Verdict
Even after being in sale for almost 7 years now, the Audi Q5 remains an excellent option in the premium crossover space. Not only are there a range of powertrains to choose from, but the small yet significant updates over the years have allowed the Q5 to be just as competitive as its rivals. The interiors also remain a strong point with the Q5, offering adequate space and all the latest features you can ask for. Overall, the 2015 Audi Q5 is one of the best options you can go for in the premium crossover segment.
