Finally, the Audi RS7 has been introduced in the North American market in late 2020 and after getting a huge response from the market, Audi has eventually planned to release the 2022 version later this year. The exterior, as well as its interior, will follow the same RS theme design. Except for some minor exterior tweaks, no other major changes are expected for this year since this model is still new in this market.

The pricing of the 2022 Audi RS7 is kept very fair and competitive giving tough competition to its competitors like the Porsche Panamera Turbo, the BMW M8, and the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 63. This model comes only in a single trim which is power-packed with all the latest techs and a monstrous engine. Its 4.0L twin-turbo engine can deliver 591 HP along with 590 lb-ft of torque, these numbers may seem to be a little less than its competitors but the power and acceleration that it generates are outstanding.

Expert Review, Pricing Analysis and Buying Guide

In front of its rival cars, the RS7 only lacks when it comes to fuel range & responsive handling. Other than that, it has all the qualities and persona that a performance car should usually have. This car is priced at approximately $ 114,000 which seems to be fair enough when we compare the specifications with its rivals.

2022 Audi RS 7 Features

The RS7 is offered in a single trim, which is offered between $114K to $120K. Price and features will not change for the 2022 model year.

We Recommend

With a single trim on offer, the RS7 encapsulates all it has to offer in a single offering. However, despite the fact that it is very well equipped, we recommend looking into the Black Optics package which gives it a exotic look, or the Driver’s Assistance Package, for added driving assistance and safety.

Price

Since the Audi RS7 is available only in one trim in the market, the prices are not expected to rise drastically. Besides, the all-new 2022 RS7 will likely get a hike of around $ 2000 to $5000 which will make the car's price wander around $ 114,000 to $ 118,000. On the other hand, if we take up the ongoing rumors into consideration then it will most likely get an integrated plug-in hybrid system. If this happens we will likely see a few thousand dollars hike in its price.

Release Date

The ongoing pandemic has made a huge impact on the production and assembly of car units due to various restrictions. So if the situation stays in a controlled manner in the coming months then it will most probably roll out at the end of 2021. The mass production of the 2022 RS7 will start in the mid of 2021.

2022 Audi RS 7 Engine and Performance

The brand new 2022 Audi RS7 will carry the same powertrain that we saw in the 2021 model. The 2022 model will be equipped with a powerful twin-turbo 4.0L V8 engine that will churn out 591 HP along with 590 lb-ft of torque, impressive isn't it?

Other than that, it will come with the same Audi Quattro AWD system that will equally distribute the power to all the wheels for better stability and grip. Its powertrain will be mated to a Tiptronic 8-speed automatic system which is very responsive as well as it is known to provide quick shifts.

This powerful V8 engine will push the RS7 to achieve 0-60 MPH in a mere 3.5 seconds which is great. Some of its competitors come with a better acceleration that also beats the RS7 in time taken to complete a quarter-mile. The differences are very minimal in these cases and considering the price, we think the RS7 will be a much better option in these cases. Other than that, the moving dynamics, as well as the riding experience, will remain top-level in the RS7. It will also come with a standard air suspension that has adaptive settings to enhance the quality of the ride.

2022 Audi RS 7 Fuel Economy

The fuel economy of the 2022 Audi RS7 will also reflect the same MPG figures as its predecessor as it carries the same powertrain from the previous model. It will give you a range of 15 miles in the city when its 19.3 gallons fuel tank gets filled.

The combined range that will be achieved by the RS7 is 17 miles which is a little less when compared to its competitors, but you cannot expect any magical numbers from a performance-oriented car.

2022 Audi RS 7 Interior

Audi has made an aggressive design inside the all-new RS7 cabin, which looks very sporty. The color schemes will remain striking and they follow the same design concept which we usually see in various video games. The cabin materials are made of premium materials and the seats as well as its steering wheel, shift-knob, and dash are bolstered in pure leather.

Its cabin is infused with various features that take care of your comfort throughout the ride. This time they have integrated maximum functionalities on the display screen itself which can be accessed by the touch of your fingers. But various buttons are still present on its cockpit to carry out other functionalities. But if we believe the rumors, the introduction of a plug-in hybrid system will force a change in its instrument panel to come up with a new design.

As far as its infotainment sector is concerned, it will have the same system and technology that we saw in its previous model. It will still carry the same 12.3-inch display, the quality of which is superb with good viewing angles. Other than that, it will have features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for a better experience.

2022 Audi RS 7 Exterior

The 2022 Audi RS7 will mostly follow the same look and characteristics as the Audi 7. At very first glance, you will be amazed by the aggressive design that includes a sloping roofline giving it a sportier look. But the dimensions of its body are a little extended when compared to the A7.

At the front, the Matrix LED lights don’t have a sharp or edgy design but it still looks classy. It will also be further equipped with ceramic braking that is very efficient in braking. Other than that, the honeycomb pattern grille and the large side vents which are unique to the RS7 model will be there in 2022 MY too.

The cargo space of 2022 RS7 is very extensive and large which is dominant in its segment. It will have a massive 24.6 cubic feet of boot space behind the seats which are indeed the best in its class. Its trunk width and opening are also quite decent and it has followed the same dimension of the 2021 model. The 2022 RS7 will contain loads of exterior features and some of them are mentioned below:

  • Matrix LED lights
  • Power liftgate
  • Power and heated side mirrors
  • Rear diffuser
  • Dual exhaust outlets
  • Retractable rear spoiler

2022 Audi RS 7 Safety

The 2022 Audi RS7 will be based on the same chassis and structure that is available on Audi A7. The RS7’s 2021 model has not been tested yet by NHTSA or IIHS but its first model was awarded Top Safety Pick by IIHS. It was also able to fetch a Good rating in most of its segments which is a very positive sign for this car.

If we look at the safety assessment tests of Audi 7 the body structure of which is mostly shared by RS7 models is also very good, and it performed exceptionally in both NHTSA and IIHS safety assessments. So, we are expecting a very good safety rating for the 2022 RS7.

This car has a wide range of active as well as passive safety features. It will contain various electronic safety features that work automatically on your back to ensure maximum safety. It will be loaded with all the basic and mated safety measures like traction & stability control, ABS, rear-view camera, and much more. But we have summed up its standout safety measures for you and mentioned below:

  • Audi PreSense
  • Frontal crash warning
  • Blind-spot monitoring system
  • Audi Connect
  • Parking Assist
  • Emergency Braking Assist
  • Lane departure warning
  • Lane Change Assist
  • 360-degree camera system
  • Adaptive cruise control

2022 Audi RS 7 Competition

2022 Audi RS7 vs 2021 BMW M8

Right away, the most obvious difference between the two is their style elements. While the RS7 gives the impression of being sleek and streamlined, the M8 seems bulky and aggressive. Both have their merits and you might prefer one over the other. The M8 is more performance-oriented in our opinion, while the RS7, although having great performance, might seem overshadowed by the M Badge heritage. It all comes down to price, which gives the RS7 a massive lead.

2022 Audi RS7 vs 2021 Porsche Panamera Turbo

The obvious difference between the two cars is the price. The RS7 is relatively cheaper than the Panamera Turbo. The Panamera provides excellent performance while having more cabin and cargo space. It also maintains a better fuel economy. The aggressive styling on the RS7, along with its tighter handling and quicker acceleration, makes it a better fit for people who prioritize thrill over practicality.

2022 Audi RS7 vs 2021 Mercedes AMG GT 63

Not only is the GT 63 unprecedentedly heavier than the RS7 here, but it is also more expensive. All while managing performance numbers lower than its rival. The GT63 manages slightly better fuel economy though and has better rear row space. Although these differences don't justify the price, when it comes to such an outstanding class of vehicles, their feel and impact make more of a statement than their numbers.

2022 Audi RS 7 Final Verdict

After looking closely at all the facts & figures, we would say the 2022 RS7 will indeed be a great choice over its competitors. Although its rivals have their own plus points, Audi as a brand has proved its quality and improved immensely over the years. With unrealistic power mated with the superb build quality and luxury, the 2022 Audi RS7 will surely be the correct choice for you. It excels in both luxury and performance, and with a price tag of $114K, it better be.
