BMW M4 is the updated version of BMW 4 Series, where M signifies Motorsport badging. It now comes with a reduced weight and stiffer chassis than its predecessor. The M4 has also replaced BMW M3 Series which also used to come in two trims i.e. coupe and convertible.

The prices of M4 range from $68,500 to $77,200. Both of them use a 3.0 L 6-Cylinder Twin Power Turbo engine which churns out a power output of 425 hp at 550 rpm and a torque of 406 lb-ft at 1850 rpm. The engine is further mated to a 6 Speed Manual Transmission System.

2018 M4 has got very decent mechanical specifications along with luxurious interior features to comfort the driver. It includes Leather Upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, 16 Speaker Harman Kardon surround sound audio system.

The 2018 BMW M4 Convertible is one of the most admired cars with different engine options and body configurations. The BMW M4 Convertible, the lightweight racing vehicle that has been a masterpiece of intelligence. Priced at $77,200 this beast of a car comes with a 3.0-liter I6 engine that makes a monstrous 425 horsepower.

The BMW M4 is available with various standard features that add to the advancement of the convertible coupes in a wide variety of ways. It comes with an all-wheel-drive system and a 6-speed manual transmission engine that ensures you get of ample power and performance.

The BMW M4 offers two optional packages; Executive Package ($2,100), Competition Package ($4,750). The former offers a few useful features, like Heads-up display, etc. The latter raises the power output to 444 horsepower.

The 2018 BMW M4 has but a single model. The convertible is lighter and faster than the sedan its based on, the 2018 M3, but heavier than the coupe. Not that it lacks power, but competition package adds a few go faster bits, which is always a good thing. Go for it if the additional cost doesn't bother you.

Both the AMG-GT and 911 GTS are faster than M4. Consequently, they are less eco-friendly when compared to the BMW.

Handling and Steering

The BMW M4 comes with a Start/Stop System that works to enhance the fuel efficiency of the vehicle. The BMW M4 features an Adaptive M suspension that is built especially to balance the ride height, thereby ensuring smooth driving quality and handling of the vehicle. This balances the height of the vehicle and comfort level of the ride according to the variation in passenger weight and cargo.


The Braking System of the BMW M4 features an Antilock Brake System, that is built with upgraded brake hardware. It also includes a Brake Assist as a safety measure.

The BMW M4 features the biggest brakes here; 15.0-inches and 14.6-inches in the Front Brake and the Rear respectively. The M4 takes a distance of 107 ft to come to a halt, great in itself, but slow when compared to its rivals. The Merc AMG-GT takes the least distance, 96 feet, to roll to a stop.

The BMW M4 comes with a two-row seating with a good seating capacity of 4. The front seats are foldable enough to get to back seats with enough space for two kids. Seats are available in a variety of configurations that offer more cargo space.

The BMW M4 has the greatest seating capacity when compared to all the other rivalries that have a seating capacity of 4. However, the Mercedes Benz AMG-GT offers the greatest amount of passenger volume than the others.

In terms of dimensions, the Porsche 911 Carrera GTS and the Mercedes-Benz AMG-GT have an almost equal length with just a 0.5-inch difference. They have a ground clearance of 4.2 and 4.9 inches and a wheelbase of 96.5 and 103.5 respectively.
