Gone are the days when you would call a Buick an old man’s car. Take a look at the new Envision, and you’d think that it is anything but an old man’s car. Fresh off the redesign that it received last year, the 2022 Envision gets few minor changes, but it is still a very exciting SUV to be checked out. An extremely handsome and stylish exterior is complemented by a quirky and stylish interior. Despite its daring looks, it isn’t as athletic and certainly not as quick. It’s meant to be more of a comfortable family cruiser and less of a raging bull.
Despite being unable to match the established Germans in their game of luxury, the Envision still slots in at an affordable segment. The 2022 Envision is available in three distinct trims and the Sport Touring package now includes alloy pedal covers, embroidered "ST" logos on floor mats and contrasting red stitching for the seats. 2022 Buick Envision goes toe to toe against the likes of Cadillac XT5, Infiniti QX50, and Volvo XC60.
2022 Buick Envision Interior Design, Dimensions, and Comfort
As we have already mentioned, the 2022 Envision’s interior design is as sporty and stylish as the exterior. The driver-focused interior features a central infotainment screen that is angled towards the driver and is enshrined by a sporty outline. Moreover, the sharp cuts and angles surely make the dash look very modern and cool. Buick didn’t get too carried away with the design, however, as they also added a touch of luxury that is certainly appreciated at this price tag. The base trim offers a mix of cloth and leatherette seat trim with a couple of different choices for the color scheme. You also get cloth door trim and a full cloth headliner. Luckily, they have added a leather-wrapped steering wheel, even in the base trim.
Moving up to the Essence trim upgrades to perforated leather upholstery. It also includes a heated, leather-wrapped steering wheel. But the best is reserved for the Avenir trim which includes quilted design perforated leather. It also introduces wood inlays with a beautiful wave-like pattern. Now, coming to the front seats, the base trim offers an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat and a 6-way manually-adjustable passenger’s seat. The Essence trim upgrades the passenger’s seat to an 8-way power-adjustable seat. You also get heated seats and driver seat memory from this trim onwards. Finally, the Avenir trim also adds seat ventilation. Coming to the seating space, the front row is pretty spacious with lots of legroom and headroom to stretch. The entire cabin is quite cavernous and roomy. Talking about the rear row, it can fit three people rather easily.

All four SUVs in the competition offer a pretty spacious second row, but the Envision offers the most spacious rear row. However, the front row legroom is a bit compromised on that account. 2022 Infiniti QX50 offers more headroom but the headroom takes a hit. Cadillac XT5 has the most spacious cabin in the lot and has a pretty premium vibe to it.
2022 Buick Envision Infotainment
The base trim of the Envision comes with an 8” diagonal infotainment touchscreen display that has a sporty enclosure. Optional on the Essence and standard on the Avenir is the large 10.2” color touchscreen display, which looks the coolest. The system runs on the Buick Infotainment System and works pretty well. The graphics are decent and the system is fluid. It is also quite intuitive and user-friendly.
The standard features include wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, Bluetooth, SiriusXM radio, AM/FM radio, Wi-Fi hotspot, active noise cancellation, USB ports, and more. The Avenir also includes HD radio, navigation, and wireless charging. The base trim comes with a basic 6-speaker sound system, but the Essence upgrades to a 7-speaker system with enhanced performance with an amplifier. Finally, the Avenir trim features a 9-speaker premium BOSE sound system, and we think you would appreciate the music that it blasts out.

2022 Buick Envision Cargo Capacity
The 2022 Envision is certainly more spacious than its counterparts in terms of interior space, but the same cannot be said for its cargo capacity, unfortunately. Don’t get us wrong, it is still quite practical with a standard cargo capacity of 25.2 cubes behind the rear seats, but the rivals offer more space.
Nonetheless, you can quite easily fit all of your week’s groceries or luggage for your entire family for a long trip. With the 60/40-split rear seats down, the cargo capacity expands to 52.7 cubes.

As we mentioned, the rivals offer more space than the 2022 Envision. The Infiniti QX50 and the Cadillac XT5 offer quite a bit more in terms of storage than the Buick. Also with the seats down, the Envision is still no match for the other three.
Additional Interior Storage Spaces
You get a few secondary storage options such as door pockets, a pair of cup holders for both the front and the rear row, center console armrest storage, and a glovebox. In the front row, there is also another small storage cubby for storing smaller items. The front seats also offer seatback pockets.
2022 Buick Envision Creature Comforts
The list of creature comforts in the 2022 Envision is nothing to be blown away by, but it is still appreciable. Starting off with the base trim, you get a mix of cloth and leatherette upholstery, power-adjustable driver’s seat, single-zone manual climate control, leather wrapped steering wheel, keyless entry and push-button start. The Essence adds a power-adjustable front passenger’s seat, heated front seats, remote start, dual-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, heated steering wheel, and hands-free power liftgate. Finally, the Avenir ups the ante by including massaging front driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, and heated rear outboard seats.
The sheer style and affordability of the 2022 Buivk Envision are enough to make it sell. But when we take a deeper look, it also offers a roomy cabin, a practical cargo space, and a long list of creature comforts. Granted, it can’t match the Germans in terms of opulence, but it also costs less. Also, the interior is quirky and pretty eye-catching, which isn’t something you would find in a lot of crossovers at this price range. Few corners had to be cut, for sure, but those certainly don’t jeopardize its value. We recommend you check it out.
