Ride and Handling

The ride was definitely like what we are expecting from an entry-level luxury sports car. The comfort depends on the type of road on which you're riding the Cadillac ATC Coupe. It was a complete sports car like ride with some bumps and thrills. The handling offered by this coupe was really good and confident for a sports car in the segment. The button is well placed on the steering, delivering a fair position and usability.

The front seats were really comfortable and spacious, and there would be no problem for the front seaters even on the long rides. The rear seats aren't that comfortable for adults as they are less spacious.

We found the ride a bit noisy and bumpy. The engine sound and road noise at high speeds is clearly audible though it is common in this segment. Other cars like Audi A5 Coupe (Premium), Lexus RC (300), and BMW 430i (Coupe) offers a bit less sporty and thrilling experience than the Cadillac ATC Coupe.

Braking

The ATC Coupe comes with advanced Brembo front brakes. The brake front for the Cadillac ATC Coupe is 12.6 inches for the front panel and 12.4 for the rear panel. The brake front was enough for the segment and easy to operate. When it comes to the real world braking experience, it was not more than average in the base model while higher models also offered forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking systems which boosts the braking system usability and performance.

The competitors, i.e. Audi A5 Coupe (Premium), Lexus RC (300), and BMW 430i (Coupe) stand at 3605, 3737, and 3574 lbs respectively. Cadillac ATS Coupe slides 115 ft. while coming from 60 MPH to still while competitors like Audi A5 Coupe (Premium) and Lexus RC (300) slide 108 and 110 ft. respectively. Other cars in the segment offer better braking systems than Cadillac ATS Coupe Base models.

2018 Cadillac ATS Coupe Interior

6.7/10

"The ATS-V gets a number of interior upgrades compared to the regular ATS, including liberal use of carbon-fiber trim. Quality is generally good, though the instrument panel looks a bit low-rent"- Edmunds

Seating and Comfort

The Cadillac ATS Coupe has a passenger capacity of 5 people. It offers a passenger volume of 91 ft.cube which is higher than the competitors. Though Cadillac ATS Coupe has a higher passenger capacity and deems to be a five-seater by the company, We would like to say that It is a five-seater only when the passengers on the back seats are studying in high school. The rear seats aren't comfortable for adult passengers through the front seats are spacious and comfortable.

The dimensions for front and rear passenger seats in the Cadillac ATC Coupe are 38.6/55.2/42.5 and 36.8/53.9/33.5 inches respectively for Head/shoulder/leg measurements respectively.

The interiors offer door pockets, cupholders and a center armrest bin which are considered good. The interiors feel good but aren't that much competition in the segment as there is a bit of plastic feel sometimes. The competitors are offering better interiors in the segment. Other features of the Cadillac ATS Coupe are heated front seats, Dual-zone climate control and two latches on the rear seats.

Infotainment

The infotainment system on the Cadillac ATC Coupe was impressive. It is named as Cadillac User experience+. The touchscreen was flawless and connectivity was easy and convenient. The infotainment system includes all the standard features like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto smartphone integration, and Wi-Fi hotspot. The higher variants' infotainment system also includes Cadillac User Experience Navigation+ which is not available in the base and Luxury variants.

Cargo Capacity

Cadillac ATS Coupe offers a low cargo capacity of 10.4 ft.cube which is really disappointing. As we are not expecting a huge cargo capacity from a luxury cum sports car but the company should have given more cargo capacity than just 10.4 ft. cube. It can hardly manage cargo of two persons for a weekend trip.

Model Cadillac ATS Coupe Audi A5 Coupe (Premium) Lexus RC (300) BMW 430i (Coupe)
Volume (ft cube) 10.4 11.6 10.4 12.6

The competitors like Audi A5 Coupe (Premium), Lexus RC(300), and BMW 430i are offering cargo capacities of 11.6, 10.4, and 12.6 ft cube respectively. The competitors also offer low cargo capacities as there is nothing much in this segment to expect from luxury-sport cars.

2018 Cadillac ATS Coupe Fuel Economy

6.6/10

As Cadillac ATS Coupe is boosted with a more powerful engine than competitors, It is a bit less fuel efficient than others in the segment. It offers an average of 22 MPG on city roads and 31 MPG on highways. The combined average comes somewhere near 25 which is acceptable for an entry level luxury sports car.
