The Cadillac draws its power from a 265 hp powerhouse and has an 8-speed automatic transmission. With a price tag of $53,795 this sedan has got some intense competition to face. The Lincoln Continental, Cadillac XTS and Kia K900 V6 are the other options you might consider.

The Cadillac also offers optional drive terrain and Luxury packages for all its variants. We Recommend

The Cadillac CT6 sure offers a variety of variants and the price gap is pretty high as well. The standard variant is pretty good on itself and if you go for the optional package and AWD drivetrain the price might rise to the luxury variant and above. The best is you can buy a luxury variant and go for the optional drivetrain and engine, with extra luxury and power it will be a perfect Luxury sedan.

2017 Cadillac CT6 Engine

8.0/10
The engines of the CT6 get better, as you might expect, the higher their rated horsepower goes. That leaves the base 2.0-liter turbo four as the least satisfying of the bunch and the twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 as the best. -Caranddriver

Engine and Transmission

The Cadillac gets its power from a 2.0L Turbo Direct Injection engine which has a 265hp power output and produces 295lb.-ft. of torque. It features rear-wheel drivetrain with the 8-speed automatic transmission. The CT6 also have an optional 3.6L V6 engine with 335hp power output but its 284lb.-ft of torque enhances its performance drastically.

Compared to the standard CT6 all its competitors are equipped with a pretty powerful engine but produces way less torque which gives the CT6 an upper hand in performance. The Kia K900 leads the segment in terms of power but what's the point of being powerful if you can't use it.

Acceleration

The Cadillac CT6 sedan features a 265 hp powerhouse with rear-wheel drivetrain while its best in class 295 lb.-ft. of torque, production pays off as it races from 0-60mph in just 6.1 sec with a quarter mile margin of 14.6 sec. The acceleration offered by this big sedan is exactly what you expect and even if you had opted for the 3.6L V6 the performance would have been the same.

The Kia K900 wins just by 0.4 sec by the CT6 with best in class 0-60 mph time record but losses in the quarter-mile margin. As for the others, their performance was disappointing while the torque explains the rest. The CT6 is undoubtedly the winner here and shows some interesting performance.

Handling and Steering

The Cadillac CT6 sure offers some intense performance but has smooth acceleration and comfortable rides not to forget that it is a luxury sedan. The 8-speed automatic transmission makes shifting easier while the rear-wheel drivetrain offers easy acceleration and the power steering does rest of the work. The Four-wheel independent suspension with stabilizing bar takes cares of the vibrations.

Despite being a long car it handles tight corners flawlessly. Advanced features like cruise control and traction control are also added for safe, convenient and effortless riding.

Braking

For a big sedan like the CT6 features small 12.6/12.4 inch front/rear 4-wheel disc brakes. The CT6 has lighter body compared to its body size so it needed less braking efforts but still, the smaller brakes cost braking power and it takes 123 ft. to stop from 60 mph which should be improved.

It has a 4-wheel anti-lock braking system with electronic stability control for efficient and safer braking. The Lincoln Continental is a heavy car leads the segment with some insane braking prowess.

2017 Cadillac CT6 Fuel Economy

7.7/10

The CT6 Cadillac is pretty fuel efficient for a 265 hp car. It is quite fuel efficient on highways compared to the cities just like all other luxurious cars. It has an average mileage of 22/30 mpg in city/highway with a combined mileage of 25 mpg.

Compared to the CT6 all its competitors are way less fuel efficient thanks to their overpower under-performing powerhouses.

2017 Cadillac CT6 Interior

6.0/10

The Cadillac CT6 has a powerful engine lineup and spacious seating, helping it reach the top half of our luxury large car rankings. While there are plenty of reasons to like this car, it’s worth noting that its trunk is small and its touch screen can be difficult to operate. -cars.usnews

Seating and Comfort

The Cadillac CT6 is a 4-door full-size sedan. Its massive body size saves a lot of space for its interiors. It features 12-way bucket seats with memory and power adjustable Lumbar support and fixed rear seats with ventilation and center armrest. 2017 Cadillac CT6 Exterior

9.1/10
Cadillac has been honing its “Art & Science” design ethos since the early 2000s, and the CT6 might be the most attractive canvas to which it’s ever been applied. The sedan has classic long-hood, short-trunk proportions and is sparingly detailed, particularly for an American luxury car. -Caranddriver

Dimensions and Weight

The Cadillac CT6 has standard Cadillac body design. It looks muscular, has smooth curves and Cadillac style LED lighting that compliments its bold looks. Weighing only 3647 lbs. the CT6 is 122.4 inches long, 74.0 inches wide and has a body height of 58.0 inches. This massive dimension creates a lot of room for the massive engine and luxurious and spacious cabin to meet its standards.

2017 Cadillac CT6 Competition

Cadillac CT6 vs Cadillac XTS Standard

The 2017 Cadillac XTS is $45,595 car with a 304 hp powerhouse. It is powerful than the CT6 and has a little smaller body. Compared to the CT6 it is powerful but sucks at performance, it has great cargo space but has very low fuel efficiency, it has less head-room and lacks luxury too. And, since it is made by same manufactures its pretty obvious that cheaper means lesser.

Cadillac CT6 vs Kia K900 V6 Premium

The Kia K900 is the only car that has really challenged the Cadillac. This $49,900 sedan beats the CT6 in power, acceleration, cargo space, interior space, and braking as well. The K900 features 311hp powerhouse with the 8-speed automatic transmission. The Kia K900 sure excels the CT6 in some aspects but it has its own flaws.

2017 Cadillac CT6 Final Verdict

Cars like Cadillac CT6 truly define the luxury sedan segment. The wide-variety of luxury offered with such price tag is just perfect. It does not have many flaws except its cargo space. The best part about the CT6 is that it offers various optional packages and trims to suits your needs and preferences. Well, you might think its an absurd price but considering the upgrades its truly worth the extra dough. Well, the variants might seem expensive but for the extras, you are getting it's not expensive at all.

The CT6 excels its competitors in several aspects and stands up to its expectations. Its a little expensive but you get a reliable and perfect car for a family or professional use in return.
