2020 Cadillac XT6 Preview, Specs, Release Date

"Cadillac had to get a three-row crossover to market as fast as possible to plug the gap between the XT5 and Escalade, but this one feels completely phoned in. It's as close to being a reskinned GMC Acadia Denali as you can possibly get. Engineers couldn't get any more power from that 3.6-liter engine? No special surprise-and-delight features? The 2020 Lincoln Aviator is gonna eat its lunch." -- Aaron Bragman, Cars.com

2020 Cadillac XT6 Engine

The power comes out with a naturally aspirated 3.6-liter V-6 engine estimated at 310 horses and 271 pound-feet of torque. The transmission duties are carried out by a nine-speed automatic gearbox.

2020 Cadillac XT6 Exterior

The exterior is decorated with a chrome grille, red taillights, and 20-inch wheels, while the interior gets wood trim covers. The Sport gets dark accent along with 21-inch wheels and more performance-oriented detailing. It offers continuously adjustable shocks and a standard all-wheel-drive system with yaw control. The Sport also offers a faster steering ratio for best steering response.

2020 Cadillac XT6 Interior

The interior still misses some luxury appeal and it more or less appears like a scaled-up version of the XT4. Historically, Cadillac had been offering low profile interior and the XT6 doesn’t change a bit. From inside, the car lacks premium appeal, even on the top trim. The plastic thing can be seen across the cabin. The Cadillac XT6 will rival some prominent cars like Acura MDX, Audi Q7, Lincoln Aviator, BMW X5, and Volvo XC90. Interestingly, the rivals offer better interior quality and detailing.

"Every SUV that Cadillac introduces right now is important for a brand that is way behind in the SUV game. While the King of Bling Escalade will remain Cadillac's SUV flagship, expect the XT6 to draw more buyers looking for better fuel economy, ride and park-ability. The XT6 faces formidable competition from the Audi Q7 and reborn crosstown-rival Lincoln — but it should be a winner if priced right." -- Henry Payne, The Detroit News

Cadillac’s latest User Experience multimedia system now features a rotary controller knob accompanied with a “jog” feature that allows better control of the system. The standard 8.0-inch touchscreen is simply a delight to have on-board, as is Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Some of the connectivity features are also standard. Two USB ports have been installed within two rows.

2020 Cadillac XT6 Safety Features

The 2020 XT6 comes equipped with active safety features like automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, parking sensors, active lane control, and a reminder for children in the rear seat. Spend-up safety extras include a surround view and night vision camera system, head-up display, adaptive cruise control, higher-speed automatic emergency braking, a camera-based rearview mirror, reverse automatic emergency braking and a video recorder for the surround-view camera system.

The optional equipment includes a hands-free liftgate, a night vision camera, an HD surround-vision camera, and keyless open with an adaptive remote start.

2020 Cadillac XT6 Pricing and Availability

When the Cadillac XT6 arrives into the showroom, it shall go against the new 2020 Lincoln Aviator. As far as the pricing is concerned, we expect the XT6 priced close to $100,000 Escalade.
