There are a lot of options to choose from but the XTS-V Sport Premium Luxury trim is the best option here. It has got almost every feature that you need in a car with an engine that produces higher power output at a low price.

2017 Cadillac XTS V-Sport Sedan Engine

Its twin-turbo V-6 and standard all-wheel drive make it the only XTS we'd buy, if we had no plans to press it into fleet service-TheCarconnection.com

Engine and Transmission

Unlike the Standard XTS, the V-Sport straps in 2 turbos to the 3.6L V6 which results in a power output of 410hp and a torque output of 369lbs.-ft. Thsi allows the Caddy to reach Highway speeds in no time at all and also encourages enthusiastic driving. The Turbo Lag is minimal for the most part and the experience past that is completely superb in terms of the way the power is delivered and handled by the transmission. Speaking of Transmission, the XTS V-Sport comes paired to a 6 Speed Automatic Gearbox and is coupled to an AWD setup for added grip.

While rivals like the Audi and the Lexus offer higher power figures than the Caddy, Mercedes manages to lose out in this by a small margin to the Cadillac. What is noteworthy is the fact that all these vehicles are significantly expensive than the Cadillac in terms of their selling prices.

Acceleration

While the XTS V-Sport may have better power figures than the standard XTS, it simply cant match its rivals acceleration figures. All rivals of the Cadillac hold an upper hand in terms of the acceleration figures and the Cadillac is the slowest among all.

Specifically speaking, the AMG and the GS F are ties at the second spot in this test while the Audi S6, takes the top honors here.

Braking and Handling

The Cadillac XTS V-Sport utilizes an All Disc brake setup for braking, with 13.6-inch rotor in the front and 12.4-inch rotor in the back. The brakes do a fantastic job of stopping this hefty Cadillac to a standstill.

Handling is at par with other Cadillacs, and the XTS figures out how to feel agile without yielding on solace even a bit. Gone are the days when Cadillac would skip around wildly at the bit of a brake, or turn around each opportunity you went to a corner. The new XTS V-Sport has a truly steady suspension setup, which still figures out how to convey an extravagant and comfortable ride.

Speaking of the braking performances, Mercedes manages to beat the others albeit by the smallest of margins. The Lexus takes claim to the second spot while the Audi and the Cadillac finish 3rd and 4th respectively.

2017 Cadillac XTS V-Sport Sedan Fuel Economy

With a bump in performance comes a downfall in mileage and the MPG figures of the XTS V-sport are a testimony to this. The XTS V-Sport can deliver a best of 23MPG on the highway and 18MPG overall. In the city, the Cadillac delivers just 16MPG and is the worst among its rivals.

The Audi and the Mercedes are tied at dead heat in terms of their MPG figures in the city but it's the Audi that takes the lead in the Highway figures. The Lexus gets an upper hand over the Cadillac by a very small margin.

It's a collection of smartly chosen textures, pared-down design, and tasteful tone choices- TheCarconnection.com

Seating and Comfort

One of the areas where the 2017 Cadillac XTS V-Sport outclasses its competition is in terms of the Seating and Comfort. The Cadillac XTS V-Sport can seat 5 passengers comfortably, without ever feeling cramped in any way. The front seats have a generous amount of space, as with the rear seats.

The interiors are quite well built too, and there are real wood inserts for the dashboard as an option. The soft-touch surfaces on the dash and the door panels only enhance the experience further, making you feel like you are in a proper luxury car.

Speaking of rivals, the Lexus GS F comes the closest in offering the best space on the inside. The Mercedes and the Audi also offer decent but lose out to the Japanese and the American in this respect.

Infotainment system

The 2017 Cadillac XTS V-Sport offers an 8-inch diagonal CUE4 color information display. Its display is crisp and the interface is responsive to swipes and touches. It comes with a lot of standard features, such as:

  • Natural Voice Recognition
  • AM/FM SiriusXM Satellite Radio11
  • USB port
  • Auxiliary input jack
  • Bluetooth connectivity
  • 8-Speaker Bose audio system

Cargo Capacity

The Cadillac XTS V-Sport has a good amount of cargo space, although it is nothing to be impressed about. It can hold a total volume of 18 cubic feet in the trunk, which isnt too bad for a luxury people carrier. Assuming that only the rear seat occupants will have luggage to ferry around, the XTS V-Sport will manage just fine.

The Rivals of the Cadillac shell out similar amount of space on the inside with the Audi being the best from the rest. None can match the Cadillac in terms of the space but its the Audi that comes the closest, followed by the Mercedes and the Lexus.

2017 Cadillac XTS V-Sport Sedan Exterior

The XTS V-Sport has plenty of sharp angles and creases in its sheet metal, but the Cadillac design theme called "Art & Science" has been softened dramatically since it bowed almost 15 years ago-Thecarconnection.com

Dimensions and Weight

The Cadillac is a quite a big car, too big to be categorized as a mid-size sedan. It is longer than 200 inches, which makes it a little difficult to negotiate rush hour traffic. It is also extremely heavy, upwards of 4 thousand pounds. The wheelbase is the shortest in the class, and so is the ground clearance.

All the 3 cars other than the Cadillac have pretty much the same dimensions with respect to each other and they cant be differentiated much visually. A standout car has to be the Audi S6 as it comes with a massive 5.6 of ground clearance and gives it an edge over its other rivals.

  • Daytime Running Lamps
  • High Intensity Discharge (HID) Xenon Headlamps
  • Cap less Fuel Filler system
  • Power-adjustable, heated, manual folding exterior mirrors with integrated turn signal indicators and puddle lamps

2017 Cadillac XTS V-Sport Sedan Competition

Cadillac XTS V -Sport vs. Audi S6

The Audi S6 is one of the most popular cars in the segment courtesy of its sturdy build, good looks, stylish interiors and enthralling performance. The Audi delivers everything one expects from a performance sedan. But considering the price difference and the size difference, the Cadillac starts making more sense. If you are not concerned about MPG figures, then we do thing that the Cadillac is the one that deserves your money.

Cadillac XTS V -Sport vs. Lexus GS-F

The GS F offers more performance, better handling, and smaller dimensions, thus being an easier car overall to live with. But in terms of luxury, the XTS V Sport has it beat. The Cadillac has much more space, rear seat comfort, and most important of all, is much cheaper to buy and maintain and which is why, it's the one to go for between the two.

Cadillac XTS V -Sport vs. Mercedes-Benz E43 AMG

Mercedes E-Class is the go to choice for most people who want to chauffeur driven around the city. The AMG version of the same adds performance to the luxury saloon and spices things up. But the Mercedes charges a hefty premium against the Cadillac for providing all this. If you are willing to look over the aforesaid characteristics, we do feel that the Cadillac makes a far better choice than the Mercedes.

2017 Cadillac XTS V-Sport Sedan Final Verdict

The Cadillac XTS V-Sport offers a ton of sportiness with its enthusiastic Engine, great handling and engaging ride. It doesnt compromise on its ride quality and offers the trademark Cadillac comfort. It also impresses with its overall Interior design and exhaustive list of features.
