2022 Chevrolet Camaro LT1 Convertible Features

In line with its predecessor, the 2022 Chevrolet Camaro is available in a coupe and convertible body styles and several trim levels: 1LS, 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, LT1, 1SS, 2SS, and ZL1. There is a significant price difference between convertible models and coupe models. With the Camaro, you can choose between a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, a V6, and two V8 engines, along with a manual transmission and an automatic transmission. The LT1 Convertible trim, however, has a V8 engine under its hood and we will be reviewing it in detail in this review. For 2022 MY, Chevy has increased the price of the convertible by around $1200.

Chevrolet offers plenty of standard features on the LT1, which includes cloth upholstery, an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat, a 7-inch touchscreen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, proximity keyless entry, and a Teen Driver safety system. With respect to performance, the LT1 trim features a V8 engine, performance suspension, and Brembo brakes. The Camaro LT1 also comes with a variety of appearance packages and individual performance options so you can customize it to your heart's content.

We recommend

Among the many trims and combinations offered on the Camaro, the LT1 trim is the perfect model for performance enthusiasts. The performance and ergonomics of this new machine are also quite similar to those of its predecessor, a machine with already impressive performance. We recommend that you choose LT1 Convertible trim, which has a specially tuned suspension, Brembo brakes, and a gigantic V8 engine. Those seeking similar performance and aesthetics for a lower price will be interested in the Coupe.

2022 Chevrolet Camaro LT1 Convertible Release date

The 2022 Chevrolet Camaro LT1 Convertible was unveiled back in the summer. Interested customers can now order the 2022 Chevrolet Camaro LT1 Convertible on the official website and select Chevrolet dealerships as well.

2022 Chevrolet Camaro LT1 Convertible Engine and Performance

The 2022 Chevrolet Camaro LT1 comes standard with a 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine. This engine has the potential to induce 455 horses of power and 455 pounds of torque. It is paired to a six-speed manual transmission while a ten-speed automatic transmission is available. The power is directed to the rear wheels as one would expect from a muscle car. Customers will be pleasantly surprised with its power and acceleration, but sports car enthusiasts will enjoy its blistering throttle response. There is a beautiful rumbling sound emanating from this engine.

2022 Chevy Camaro Convertible performance is assured to be one of the best in the class as this powertrain can reach 60 mph from a standstill in less than 4.2 seconds, while the quarter-mile run can be completed in less than 12.4 seconds. Its sporty attitude and excellent handling make the rear-wheel-drive Camaro LT1 Convertible a very appealing car. Although it has a hefty V8 engine, it feels planted and takes corners with enthusiasm. Despite being heavier than lighter two-seat sports cars, the Chevrolet Camaro LT1 Convertible offers responsive handling and excellent braking capabilities.

With a 6.2-liter engine, the Chevy Camaro offers the most powerful and hefty engine compared to its competitors. On the other hand, the Ford Mustang GT is also powered by a V8 engine that allows it to hit 60 mph in less than 4.5 seconds, making it quicker than most competitors, but not as fast as the Camaro. BMW's 230i comes with a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that's good for decent power, while Nissan's 370Z comes with a V6 engine capable of producing staggering speeds.

2022 Chevrolet Camaro LT1 Convertible Fuel Economy

The 2022 Chevy Camaro LT1 Convertible's fuel economy is a little below average for a sports car, but it's right in line with its American muscle-car rivals. With the naturally aspirated V8 engine under its hood, it returns up to 16 mpg on the busy streets and 26 mpg on the highways, and 20 mpg in the combined drive case. It sports a fuel tank of 19 gallons capacity that offers a combined range of around 400 miles which is more than most of its competitors.

In comparison to its rivals, the BMW 230i falls short in terms of power, but these limitations enable it to achieve excellent fuel economy which helps it to outpace its competitors. On the city cycle, it gets 23 mpg and on the combined cycle, it gets 27 mpg. With a combined fuel efficiency of 21 mpg, the Nissan 370Z is the only car that even comes close to the 230I. The fuel efficiency of the Ford Mustang is the lowest of all vehicles in this segment.

2022 Chevrolet Camaro LT1 Convertible Interior

The 2022 Chevrolet Camaro LT1 Convertible is designed with a luxurious interior and an elegant layout. It has a driftwood dashboard finish. You can control your climate with four individual climate controls that are positioned in the center of the dashboard in a circular pattern. The interior features soft-touch materials to help companions stay comfortable. The driver's seat in the car is power-adjustable in eight ways as standard, and the passenger's seat is power-adjustable in six ways. The standard front seats can also be upgraded to Recaro performance front seats that cradle the occupants much better than standard ones do. There are lots of hard plastics inside the Camaro, which are particularly noticeable around the infotainment screen and in some other areas. The Camaro has some soft-touch surfaces, but in comparison to many rivals, it is less luxurious.

For drivers who prefer an open-air driving experience with fewer distractions, the Camaro LT1 Convertible offers more outside room. Four people can sit in the Chevy Camaro. Even when you're driving spiritedly or going on a long drive, you're comfortable in the front seats. However, the small windows, the high beltline, and the large roof pillars create blind spots and impair visibility. There are 7.3 cubes of trunk space in the Chevrolet Camaro convertible. Most sports cars have similar interior space, but models such as the Dodge Challenger and Ford Mustang offer a few extra cubic feet of space.

One major setback when it comes to convertibles is that they are less accommodating than their coupe siblings. That's also true of all of the convertibles mentioned above. Even though all of the cabriolets above can accommodate up to 4 passengers, the Nissan 370Z can only accommodate two people. With ample head and shoulder room in the front and back rows, the BMW 230i is the most spacious convertible here. Although the Camaro offers decent space in the first row, the rear row is cramped and only suitable for short adults or children. The 2022 Chevrolet Camaro LT1 comes with a number of notable interior features, including:

  • 6-way power-adjustable front passenger seat
  • 8-way power front sport bucket seats for driver seat
  • Folding rear seat
  • Cloth Upholstery
  • Tilt/Telescopic leather-wrapped, flat-bottom steering wheel
  • Leather-wrapped shift knob
  • LCD Driver Information Center
  • Single-zone automatic climate control

How intuitive is the 2022 Chevrolet Camaro LT1 Convertible’s Infotainment System?

The 2022 Chevrolet Camaro LT1 Convertible features an infotainment system that has been dubbed the most competitive and robust setup on the market. Chevrolet's Infotainment 3 system is very easy to use. It features a 7-inch touchscreen as standard. Getting around the menus and figuring out where everything is is easy. Also, the graphics look good. An alternative way to interact with the system is through integration with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay on smartphones.

In this case, you will not need to plug in your phone via a USB port because wireless capability is being introduced for the first time. With Chevrolet MyLink, an optional eight-inch color touchscreen is available for the Camaro LT1 Convertible infotainment system. With the speaker system, which has LED accent lighting and 9 speakers, you’ll have more immersive entertainment. As standard, we have a six-speaker stereo system. The 2022 Chevrolet Camaro LT1 Convertible infotainment includes the following features:

  • 7-inch touchscreen
  • Available 8-inch touchscreen
  • Android Auto and Apple Car Play
  • 6-Speaker stereo
  • Satellite radio
  • Bluetooth
  • Voice recognition
  • Wi-Fi hotspot
  • Available none-speaker audio
  • Available wireless device charging
  • SiriusXM Radio w/12-month All Access trial subscription
  • OnStar services and Chevrolet Connected Access

2022 Chevrolet Camaro LT1 Convertible Exterior

The 2022 Chevrolet Camaro LT1 Convertible is a great-looking car with a sleek design and a very good set of features that make it a true sports car. The exterior design is pretty similar to that of the outgoing Camaro LT1, smoother looking yet still has that aggressive look. The grill looks very similar to what you currently see in the current generation of Camaro's. It has signature vertical LED style headlights around the grille. Keeping the lines quite tight and sleek throughout the body panels, the rear does have a bit of a pop in terms of styling with dual sloping rear lights along with a nice-sized spoiler in the back. Dual chrome exhaust tips are combined with quad taillights to give this rear-end an aggressive look.

The 2022 Chevrolet Camaro LT1 Convertible is a stylish and sporty car. It possesses a striking appearance due to its minimalistic design and fewer lines. Now for 2022 MY, there are two new colors and a few additional appearance packages available to further enhance the look and feel of your LT1 Convertible. Opening and closing the roof is quick and it makes a very eye-catching transition from the front to the back. Being the Convertible, it only has 7.3 cubic feet of cargo space as opposed to its Coupe sibling that has 9.1 cubic feet.

There is no doubt that the Nissan 370Z is the most sporty-looking of all these vehicles. In terms of height and length, the Ford Mustang is the largest and tallest vehicle presented here. Among the competitors, the Chevy Camaro LT1 has an exceptionally long wheelbase, although it has the lowest ground clearance. Likewise, the Camaro is the heaviest convertible on this list followed by the Ford Mustang GT Convertible. In order to keep its aesthetically pleasing and aerodynamically dynamic appearance, the Nissan 370Z has the smallest dimensions of all.

Highlights of 2022 Chevrolet Camaro LT1’s exterior include:

  • Projector-beam headlights w/LED daytime running lights
  • LED taillights
  • Heated power-adjustable auto-dimming outside mirrors
  • Front variable-speed intermittent wipers
  • Black front and rear Bowties
  • 20-inch silver-painted aluminum wheels

2022 Chevrolet Camaro LT1 Convertible Safety

Both the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration have not yet tested the 2022 Chevrolet Camaro. Chevy is not known for being complacent in the safety department, as the results of the Camaro safety tests clearly demonstrate. Inside crashes as well as rollover tests, the 2021 Chevrolet Camaro was rated five stars out of five by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Throughout its four crash tests, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety evaluated the 2021 Chevrolet Camaro as Good, while its roof strength was rated as Acceptable. Despite the lack of driver aids available, the Camaro has equipped with a long list of safety features that keep all the anxiety away. Also, many of those features can be added as additional options, which would further increase the prices, but it still meets the needs of a buyer who is anxious. Optional safety features include forward-collision warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors. Among the notable features are:

  • Rearview camera
  • Lane departure warning
  • Automatic emergency braking
  • Blind-spot monitoring
  • Rear cross-traffic alert
  • Rain-sensing windshield wipers
  • LED headlights
  • Lane keep assist
  • Front and rear collision mitigation
  • Available Head-up display
  • Available Adaptive cruise control
  • Available Rear cross-traffic alert

  • Available Rear parking sensors
