Even if you don't opt for the trail boss package which raises the overall height, getting inside the 2022 Colorado Crew Cab will be a challenge especially without the optional side steps. The front doors are wide enough but the same cannot be said about the rear doors. However, once you are in, the cabin is roomy enough to confuse you as if you have stepped inside a full-size truck. But the whole interior design appears to be very basic as Chevy favored practicality over attractive visuals. On top of this, hard plastic can be found everywhere. The dashboard as usual comes as a big slab but at least Chevy placed everything thoughtfully.

An analog plus digital gauge cluster is also available. You also get a standard steering wheel with gamepad-like buttons mounted on the top. You should feel right at home with comfortable seats and there is enough headroom for tall people. Even the rear row bench seat provides one of the best rooms in its class but keep in mind that it is naturally going to be lesser than the front row seats. Lastly, Chevy has done a decent job keeping the cabin quiet as long as you don’t push Colorado to its limits.

When compared to its rivals, in terms of interior passenger volume it shares the stage with its twin GMC Canyon. Both Ford Ranger and Toyota Tacoma come with smaller cabins with less room. However, we must mention that both GMC Canyon and Ford Ranger offer better-looking cabins.

2022 Colorado Crew Cab offers pretty good cargo capacity. When compared to its rivals it manages to surpass Toyota Tacoma and share similar volume with the GMC Canyon. However, it's the Ford Ranger that takes the top spot in terms of cargo capacity.
Additional Interior Storage Spaces
The secondary storage areas might be fewer than the other vehicles in its class but these are fairly big to hold most of your personal effects. First of all, the glove box under the dashboard is huge. Seeing how big the slablike dashboard is, we are disappointed that Chevy didn't go ahead with the additional storage area above the glove box. The center console has a tilted bin which also holds a wireless charging pad. Right next to the gear shifter are two cup holders and a small tray can be found.
The center armrest comes with a huge hidden compartment and yes connectivity ports are available inside. There are no net pockets for rear row occupants, but at least a tray is available at the bottom. The foldable armrest also reveals two cupholders and a tray. As usual, every door comes with two pockets one after the other. However only front doors come with bottle holders.
2022 Chevrolet Colorado Crew Cab Creature Comforts
Chevy has equipped it with some comfort features just so it doesn’t look barebones. A 4-way power-adjustable driver seat is standard on the base trim but higher trims come with 6-way power-adjustable seat with power lumbar support. Unfortunately, the front passenger seat is manually adjustable across the lineup. These seats are covered with cloth but buyers can always opt for leather upholstery by paying extra.
Heated front bucket seats and leather-wrapped heated steering wheel are available in higher trims. Other features such as armrests with soft touch materials, remote keyless entry, and power windows are available. The base trim comes with single-zone manual climate control but you can easily replace it with an automatic climate control.
Verdict
Chevrolet Colorado Crew Cab has made its own identity. Not only can it carry heavy loads in the back, it is also strong and agile. As for the interior, Chevy hasn't put much effort into its design and styling but they didn't forget about its practicality. It is as spacious as it is comfortable. It also gets a decent infotainment system for a truck. So yes we think the interior of the 2022 Chevy Colorado Crew Cab is spacious and practical.
