2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Features

The 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is offered in three body shapes which were again sectionalized into various trims based on the engine, drivetrain, and cargo beds. However, the Regular Cab comes in just one trim with two drivetrain options: 2-wheel-drive and 4-wheel-drive. We expect the 2022 version of the Silverado 1500 to follow the same trim game with a slight increase in the price.

We Recommend

Since there is only one trim with two drivetrains on offer, we recommend the Silverado 1500 WT 4WD as it offers better traction and stability for the extra bucks you spend on it. Apart from that, everything remains the same for the two variants. Features like single-zone climate control, vinyl seats, dusk-sensing headlamps, and more come standard with the Regular Cab variant.

2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Engine and Performance

The 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Regular Cab will be offered with a 2.7-L turbocharged engine. This engine is expected to churn out 310 hp alongside a peak torque output of around 348 lb-ft. The engine will come mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox, which is also seen on several other vehicles from the brand. This gearbox is reliable but often gets sluggish as it’s not the most fine-tuned unit out there.

Having said that, this engine is known for its supreme refinement and impressive driveability. The low end is strong, and there is negligible turbo lag. The throttle response is also great, and the long-term reliability of this motor is one of the best in the segment. When checking the pickup's performance, it reaches the 60 mph mark in 7 seconds and completes a quarter-mile in 13.3 seconds.

Performance from the turbocharged engine is impressive and makes it one of the fastest vehicles in the segment. It leads the segment with a quarter-mile timing of just 13.3 secs. However, the F-150 does have the best transmission in the segment. This is evident by the praise it gets from the owners and critics alike. When comparing the 0-60 mph number, RAM takes the least amount of time of just 6.8 seconds.
