As the flagship car from Chrysler, the 300 Sedan strives to provide you with the best of what the brand has on offer. It offers muscular looks with a brawny powertrain to match, on the flip side, the cabin is roomy and quite plush. However, the 300 has been having a pretty rough time in the market due to the outdated design, mediocre build quality, and the general lack of enthusiasm for the full-size sedan segment amongst buyers. Regardless, with an S badge and a few updates to the appearance, the 300 S is Chrysler’s attempt to make a sportier and driver-focused car to lure in more buyers.
2022 Chrysler 300 S Dashboard
The 2022 Chrysler 300 S is priced at $43,070 and competes with the likes of the 2022 Dodge Charger, the 2022 Nissan Maxima, and the 2022 Toyota Avalon.
2022 Chrysler 300 S Interior Design, Dimensions, and Comfort
Although the base trim versions of the Chrysler 300 are quite modest and simple on the inside, the S turns out to be the sporty yet luxurious version of the Chrysler 300. With a sporty cabin draped in black Nappa leather, the 300 S stands out from the rest of the trims. The 300 S also has special ‘S’ embroidery on the seats that remind you of its sportiness.
2022 Chrysler 300 S Front Seats
The dashboard design layout seems quite outdated but it is the small elements like the Chrysler clock in the middle and piano black trim inserts that make the cabin slightly special and unique. The cabin can be configured in either an all-black or in a dual-tone layout with smoke and red color leather upholstery paired with black Nappa leather. It also features dual-zone automatic climate control and an optional first and second-row sunroof as well.
The front offers heated and ventilated 10-way power-adjustable seats that come with Nappa leather upholstery, ‘S’ badge embroidery, and an impressive contrast stitching option in white. You can also configure and choose perforated leather upholstery.
The front seats offer excellent comfort with deep cushioning and adequate bolstering. The second-row seats are equally comfortable as well with adequate room for three passengers. Unlike the other trim options, the 300 S has sporty black piano trim accents everywhere including the steering wheel and door panels. The rear also gets an armrest to ensure that the passengers in the rear are comfortable and relaxed at all times.

The Chrysler 300 S and the Dodge Charger share similar platforms, resulting in similar cabin space, features, and even switchgear shared between the two cars. The Charger is more on the muscular side while the Chrysler 300 S has a sense of luxury to it.
The Nissan Maxima is a comfortable car to be in as well but it doesn’t have as much space inside it as the 300 S. The Toyota Avalon on the other hand might not be the sportiest of sedans in the segment, but it has more space on offer on the inside than all the others.
2022 Chrysler 300 S Infotainment
Chrysler has undoubtedly put in some efforts to bring a sporty face to the 300 Sedan, but it hasn’t worked on providing the best infotainment features inside the cabin. This puts it in a frivolous place, especially when put against segment-leading Japanese rivals.
2022 Chrysler 300 S Infotainment System
Just like most of its interior, the infotainment system feels outdated as well. The UConnect 4C system might not have a lot going for it in 2022, however, it does have a few useful features, most importantly, it has an easy-to-use interface that can be accessed through the 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment display unit that's part of the standard fitment. Though the UI is not the most attractive or intriguing to look at with not-so-sharp graphics.
As standard, you get a built-in navigation system along with the latest connectivity features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Some other noteworthy features include Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity and a 4G LTE WiFi hotspot.
Moreover, you get a 506w Alpine premium audio system with 9 speakers but sadly, that's your only option.

2022 Chrysler 300 S Cargo Capacity
For a sedan of its kind, the Chrysler 300 S does have a cavernous trunk. It offers a standard cargo capacity of 16.3 cubic feet which makes it one of the most practical cars in the segment. The cargo space can be further extended by folding the second-row seats. As far as convenience and practicality go, Chrysler has been generous enough to offer the 300 S with remote access for the trunk as well.

The Nissan Maxima seems to be slightly on the not-so-practical side as far as cargo space is considered. Both the Chrysler 300 S and the Dodge Charger provide adequate cargo space while the Toyota Avalon isn't too far behind either.
Additional Interior Storage Spaces
In terms of interior storage spaces, the Chrysler 300 S is fairly traditional with its approach. There's an illuminated glove box followed by a pair of illuminated cupholders and a small storage cubby on the center console. The rear also gets a pair of cupholders on the foldable armrest and map pockets on the front seatbacks. You also get a storage bin underneath the front armrest. However, there's no wireless charging pad and that's where the 300 starts to show its age.
2022 Chrysler 300 S Creature Comforts
Starting from the front, the 2022 Chrysler 300 S comes equipped with a heated steering wheel followed by heated seats that prove to be quite relaxing, especially in colder temperatures. You also get steering wheel-mounted controls for the infotainment and cruise control settings, ensuring that you don't have to take your hands off the wheel for minor operations. Moreover, there is a sizeable armrest at the front as well as an elegant-looking analog clock placed on the dashboard.
There's an optional panoramic sunroof that further brings in more light into the cabin. Chrysler also offers USB charging ports both at the front and rear for easy access.
Verdict
The 2022 Chrysler 300 S is meant to bring out the sporty side of the Chrysler 300 and it does feel sportier in certain ways. However, it feels a bit long in the tooth, especially when compared to rivals like the Avalon and the dwindling sales figures reflect. It needs a redesign desperately to stay relevant. Regardless, where the 300 shines is in providing a roomy and plush cabin with a fair bit of luxury at an affordable price.
