Last year, Chrysler introduced the Pacifica with a complete makeover, and we’re still going gaga over it. The new Chrysler Pacifica came with a crossover-like exterior styling with a sleeker body, sharper headlights and grille, and new wheel rims. Though the cabin’s layout remained the same, the company revised it with better quality materials to make it feel more upmarket. 

The vehicle can seat seven passengers and it comes stuffed with plenty of features. The 2022 Pacifica comes with some minor interior changes, which include a new N95 cabin air-filtration system, an optional Amazon Fire TV, and an optional rear-seat entertainment system. There aren’t too many luxury minivans, and very few companies offer them. 2022 Chrysler Pacifica competes against the likes of the Honda Odyssey, Toyota Sienna, and Kia Carnival. 

2022 Chrysler Pacifica Interior Design, Dimensions, and Comfort

Engineers at Chrysler tried their best to impersonate the 2022 Pacifica as an SUV. The exterior reminds us of a minivan, but the interior appearance narrates a different story. The dashboard layout is clean and it comes with trim-specific accents and stitching. The cabin of the Touring and Touring L comes decorated with metal-look interior accents, and the dashboard comes embellished with soft black leatherette with white stitching. The dashboard of the Pinnacle adds a richer touch with its brown stitched leather inserts. All the trims except the Pinnacle offer a black-leatherette trimmed door panel, while the Pinnacle takes things higher with a caramel-colored leather-trimmed door panel. As standard, you get Techno Leather-trimmed steering wheel, while a leather-wrapped, white-accent stitched steering wheel comes standard in the Touring L and Limited. The Pinnacle gets a red-accented stitching on the steering wheel. However, all the trims offer a heated steering wheel as standard. 

For seating, you get premium cloth seats on base trim. As standard, you get a heated, 8-way power driver and a 4-way manually-adjustable front passenger seat. The Limited trim gets premium Nappa leather seats, while the Pinnacle offers quilted Nappa leather seats. Both of them get a pair of 8-way power-adjustable front seats with power-adjustable lumbar, heated and ventilated front seats, and heated second-row seats. The rear comes equipped with a pair of captain’s chairs on the second-row and bench seats at the rear. The front seats are excellent in terms of comfort and space. However, the third-row seats don’t offer adequate padding, leading to discomfort during longer rides.

The Honda Odyssey offers seats for eight passengers as standard, while the others offer seats for seven as standard. The cabin of the Pacifica is the largest, with a whopping 165 cu ft of space, while Sienna’s cabin is 5.3 cu ft smaller than the latter. However, the seats of the Kia Carnival offer the best view. We expect its cabin to be larger than the Pacifica's. Design-wise, the cabins of the Sienna and the Pacifica impressed us the most.

2022 Chrysler Pacifica Infotainment

The 2022 Pacifica gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen display loaded with the Uconnect 5 UI. The infotainment unit is user-friendly, modern, and offers crisp graphics. However, only the Limited and Pinnacle models get a navigation system. The base trims come standard with a six-speaker audio system, while the Limited and Pinnacle get a Harman Kardon premium 20-speaker (19+1) premium audio system. 

An Alpine 13-speaker premium audio system is optional. Other features include Bluetooth services, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and SiriusXM. The Limited and Pinnacle models offer superior infotainment features like navigation, SiriusXM 360L, HD Radio, voice command, and built-in Amazon Fire TV as standard, along with an optional rear-seat entertainment system.

2022 Chrysler Pacifica Cargo Capacity

As standard, 2022 Pacifica with all the three rows up, offers 32.3 cu ft of space. It can be expanded to 87.5 cu ft and 140.5 cu ft with the third-row and second-row folded, respectively.

The rear hatch offers a large enough opening to let you easily load your belongings. Also, the cargo floor is slightly higher.

The Kia Carnival gets the largest cargo capacities (both standard and with folded). On the other hand, the Pacifica and the Honda Odyssey lag a little behind. Also, the cargo floors of the Odyssey and Pacifica are lower than the others which makes loading things easier.

 

Additional Interior Storage Spaces

The front row gets an illuminated and cooled glovebox, a small compartment for storing mobile phones and other small items, and a pair of beverage holders on the lower dashboard. You also get a central console with some storage space inside. The second and third rows also get a pair of illuminated cup holders.

 

2022 Chrysler Pacifica Creature Comforts

2022 Pacifica offers a long list of comfort and convenience features. You get premium cloth, perforated leather or premium Nappa leather-trimmed seats, power-adjustable, heated and ventilated front seats with power-adjustable lumbar support and memory, heated second-row seats, power-folding third-row seats, a tri-zone automatic climate control with rear-temperature controls and vents, cabin air-filter and heater, a leather-wrapped and heated steering wheel, a 7-inch color digital instrument cluster, suede headliner, premium door-trim panel, wireless charging, and plenty others.

 

Verdict

The 2022 Chrysler Pacifica gets a beautifully laid interior. The cabin is roomy, comfortable, and constructed with quality materials. In short, it looks impeccable and feels upmarket. The seats offer excellent comfort and you get ample space in all the rows. You also get plenty of creature comforts. For entertainment, you get an Uconnect 5 infotainment unit along with an optional rear-seat entertainment system. In short, we are very much satisfied with what Chrysler has to offer but do check out Toyota Sienna once before narrowing down on your purchase.
