Expert Review, Pricing Analysis and Buying Guide

Speaking of the engine, it boasts a powerful and rumbling V8 engine that produces colossal power and the best thing about the Challenger is that it comes with a traditional muscle car design language that other cars in this segment fail to deliver. Also, it gets a 6-speed manual transmission for all the purists who would love to have it. Moreover, it goes up against some other iconic muscle cars like the Ford Mustang GT, Chevrolet Camaro SS, and BMW M240i.

The Scatpack is also now available with a widebody kit. Apart from offering a plethora of features, it also comes with different additional packages like Shaker Package, Quick Order Package 23G R/T Scat Pack, and Driver Convenience Group.

Among the competition, The BMW M240i might be fast and sprightly but it is outperformed by its American muscle cars because of their power advantage and the mighty V8 engines. The BMW produces the lowest power output of 335 hp @ 5,500 rpm and 369 lb-ft @ 1,520 rpm which might seem powerful but not enough to take down its rivals. The Dodge Challenger, on the other hand, turns out to be the fastest car here. Both Mustang and Camaro have similar power output and performance figures.

How well does the 2021 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack?

The Dodge Challenger is infamous for its cumbersome handling and sluggish steering response due to its hefty weight and large exterior dimensions. Well, it’s not quite the same in this case, The Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack is quite different and it handles better than the regular version. Thanks to the high-performance suspension which offers a stiff ride resulting in minimal body roll which keeps the car stable at high-speed corners.

It also comprises 20-inch alloy wheels with wide tires which gives good traction On top of that, the Dodge also offers several safety systems like Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Roll Stability Control (RSC), and Driveline Traction Control to keep the car stable and safe while driving through corners. On the whole, the Dodge has managed to offer better handling for a hefty muscle car.

2021 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack Braking Performance:

Braking is so important in performance muscle cars like these and the Dodge has got you covered with a huge front rotor that measures 14.2 inches and gets a 13.8 inches rotor in the rear. If you want better braking performance, the Dodge has got your back with a Brembo performance brake system. However, the 60-0 mph stopping distance remains unstated.

2021 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack Coupe Competition

2021 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack  VS 2021 Ford Mustang GT :

Ford Mustang GT is another great package in this segment that also uses a massive V8 but is not as powerful as the Challenger. As a result, the Ford Mustang GT offers better fuel efficiency than the Dodge Challenger. With its lightweight nature, the mustang is more agile to drive in corners while the Dodge Challenger feels cumbersome to drive. In terms of design, the Dodge might grab more attention than the Mustang.

2021 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack  VS 2021 Chevrolet Camaro SS:

The Chevrolet Camaro SS also has a long-lasting history in the muscle car segment that brought fortunes to the brand since its genesis. It gives a tough fight to the Challenger in every aspect. Despite being a slightly underpowered engine, it accelerated faster than the Challenger, thanks to the lightweight chassis and structure which reflects in its fuel economy as well. However, the Challenger is a more comfortable car due to its spacious cabin. Out of the two, the Chevrolet Camaro is more affordable and also seems to be a better option.

2021 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack VS 2021 BMW M240i:

Although both these cars belong to different segments, they are mainly focused on performance and enthusiastic driving dynamics. The BMW, with its compact size, handles much better than the Dodge Challenger. Nevertheless, the Challenger being a more powerful car destroys the BMW in straight-line performance. The BMW also offers a great fuel economy and greater technology on board. On the downside, it is very expensive.

2021 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack Coupe Final Verdict

The Dodge Challenger R/T Scat pack seems to be the real deal in the performance coupe division. With its highly powered supercharged V8 engine, it performs great and sounds angry all the time with the whining supercharger sound, it feels like a baby hellcat especially with the wide body kit on board. Every car has its downsides too. When it comes to fuel efficiency, it loses out to all the cars in the segment and due to its heftiness, it is also not so good at handling. Apart from that, it is such a promising car and if you are looking for a performance car at a very affordable price, the Dodge Challenger R/T Scat pack is worth checking out.
