The new Ferrari F8 Tributo will only be made available in a single trim with a plethora of personalization options to choose from. The prices would start from about $281,000 and that is before you start adding anything. For supremacy in the segment, the 2022 Ferrari F8 Tributo Coupe will go against the Lamborghini Huracan Evo, Porsche 911 Turbo S and the mighty McLaren 720s.

The2022 Ferrari F8 Tributo Coupe sums up to be a standalone V8 GTB car in Ferrari’s mid-tier line-up. So you are looking at either this or the drop-top Spyder, in which the latter is up for an altogether different discussion. The base prices would go up from $281,000 with enough custom features to attract you which could easily push the prices past the 350 grand mark. Every single upgrade you make from the base car will be paid for and that does include even the backdrop color of the rev counter.

The 2022 Ferrari F8 Tributo Coupe is not a car built to soothe you in all the luxury but built to be a car that is meant to be driven, by which we mean driven hard. So the prominent equipment you will be looking out for would be great seats and a steering wheel, both of which feel like the best. The iconic analog yellow background rev counter and the steering mounter Manettino Mode selector dial is here to stay. You also get a 7-inch display for the passenger so that he knows the numbers when things start flashing by the window.

Which trim should you buy?

As the 2022 Ferrari F8 Tributo Coupe comes in as a standalone trim the only option you are left with is customizing various aspects of the car using an online/offline configurator. Ferrari does offer a myriad of interior and exterior equipment combinations online with more options available in person at dealerships. In our eyes, the 2022 Ferrari F8 Tributo Coupe looks good stock and the only upgrades we recommend doing would be the carbon-fiber exterior trim package and the Forged Matt Gird Corsa diamond-cut 20-inch wheels.

Since there have been no significant updates for the new model year, Ferrari has already started delivering the Ferrari F8 Tributo Coupes with the 2022 model year plaque. Ferrari would receive configurations and keep on selling the Ferrari F8 Tributo Coupe until an official statement of its discontinuation comes out, with the 296 GTB starting to take over its position possibly sometime next year.

The 2022 Ferrari F8 Tributo Coupe will house the extremely potent twin-turbo 3.9L V8 powerhouse. It has been tuned to put out nearly 710 horses at the crank and over 567 pounds-foot of torque. Even if you miss the specs sheet, this machine will surprise you with the thrust on offer and the ferocity with which it gains speed. Unlike most other twin-turbo sports cars that we have driven, the F8-Tributo is almost lag-free and you would be hard-pressed to distinguish it from an NA. The turbo spools and the exhaust note are the only obvious giveaway that it's forced-induced.

Talking about some numbers, the 2022 Ferrari F8 Tributo Coupe would sprint to 60 in just 2.8 seconds, flashing past the quarter-mile marker in just 10.2 seconds. Keep your foot floored and the car easily crosses 180mph before it hits the limiter at its electronically limited 211 mph top speed. The finicky launch control system is a sour point in this car and if it were a prepped surface, it could have shaved a couple of milliseconds off the 60 runs that we have got.

Thanks to the boatloads of low-end torque and trick launch control systems, there is no beating the Porsche when it comes to standing sprints and quarter-mile runs. Hitting 60 in almost 2.5 seconds, the 911 Turbos S is in an altogether different class when it comes to acceleration. The rest of the pack comes close in this regard sharing almost identical 0-60 run times. The Huracan however, as to the deficit of forced induction, lacks the midrange torque and starts falling back when speeds go up which is clearly depicted in its 10.6 second quarter mile run despite accelerating to 60 as good as the other cars here.

How well does the 2022 Ferrari F8 Tributo Coupe handle?

 Simply put, the 2022 Ferrari F8 Tributo Coupe is the best handling mid-engine Ferrari to date. When we thought things couldn’t get any better after the 458, they brought us the incredible 488, and now, this. Fine-tuning the car with every ounce of that Formula-One technology which has trickled down is clearly evident with every single update they bring on-road cars. The steering wheel feels precise and the Pilot Sport Cup 2s hold the car nice one you put some heat into them.

 The magnetic damper wizardry has been something they have been perfecting since the 599s and sure as heck, it does the business. It does not have the compliance you expect when driving at slow paces but gets the car into character once you start dialing things up. The chassis lays flat and the amount of mechanical grip from the chassis is insane. We would have a rowdy exhaust like on the old Naturally aspirated ones. We are not disapproving turbos here, but the visceral feel and drama the old cars have is a sore miss, for at least some of us here.

The 2022 Ferrari F8 Tributo Coupe comes with Carbon ceramic rotors out of the box, which is both a good thing and a bad thing depending on how you look at it. You need to get some heat into them before they start showing what they are really capable of. Unless you do that, they may feel a bit soft and may sound squeaky. The 6-piston calipers at the front do bite down pretty hard and bring the car to a halt from 60 in just 98 feet, which is not that far off from the best figures that we have got in its class.

All the cars here come with Carbon ceramic rotors as standard or at least as an option, so there is no question about their capability to drop anchors. The 720D being one of the lightest of the bunch and sporting some sizable front rotors, stopped the best, posting a distance of just 95 feet, which is outstanding. The 911 Turbo S, with the biggest stopping hardware, manages to come close with a 97 feet stop despite being the heaviest one here. Even though the Lambo is the lightest one, the small rotors did make it go farther than the competition when fully jamming the pedal.

You do not relate the word efficiency to a car that is squeezing out more than 700 horses from a 4.0L V8 and the 2022 Ferrari F8 Tributo Coupe is not different. Expect somewhere around 16 mpg on real-world usage and coupled with a 20.6-gallon tank, that nearly 330 miles of usable range. Not that someone who actually buys one of these cares, the best number that the 2022 Ferrari F8 Tributo Coupe returns is on the highways, which is 19 mpg, and if you are driving light-footed the maximum extractable range does go near 392 miles.

Quite surprisingly, the McLaren 720 S, which is by far the most powerful car here, returns the best highway and combined efficiencies of 22mpg and 18mpg respectively. The 911 Turbo S follows close by but falls out when it comes to the fuel tank size, which is just rated for 17.6 gallons. The Huracan Evo however, sporting the biggest engine here, drinks comparatively more and so, gets the biggest gas tank here measuring in at 21.1 gallons. The 2022 Ferrari F8 Tributo Coupe finds the sweet spot between power, economy, and capacity.

Since you would be spending all the time behind the wheel of the 2022 Ferrari F8 Tributo Coupe, there is not so much to fiddle around with, What you get is a pair of perfectly bolstered sports seats, a nice steering wheel, a bunch of basic creature comfort tech and an optional 7” display tailor-made for the passenger so that they do not feel left out when you are having all the fun. Realistically we don’t expect anything more from this car as once you start to truly explore the capabilities, you won’t find time to fickle with the rest of the stuff on board. The only thing you’ll be changing is the Manettino dial on the steering wheel.

Both the front seats come in a single-piece backrest unit, so the only thing you’ll be able to adjust is the recline angle and the for-aft movement, that too manually! Ingress is a bit of work, but once you get in, it holds you pretty tight just the way you expect it to. The driver's instrument cluster contains most of the controls of the car including the infotainments. The central signature analog tachometer remains and is something we expect to see on every Ferrari ever. Browsing through it with the steering controls is not the easiest of things, but that is what you get.

The 2022 Ferrari F8 Tributo Coupe is the roomier car here thanks to the extra width of the bodywork but the poor outward visibility makes it a handful in the city. The McLaren does feel airier thanks to the glasswork but lacks the fit and finish of the rest of the cars here. The Huracan Evo has a well-sorted interior, but the low roofline makes access pretty difficult, and tall people might feel a bit constrained. It does have the biggest cargo room though. What’s there to keep you entertained?

Except for driving, you are pretty much limited on gizmos inside the 2022 Ferrari F8 Tributo Coupe. The left screen on the digital screen incorporates the media system and is far from intuitive in usage. It supports Apple car play and you get a USB for connectivity behind the center armrest. A 6-speaker audio system does come in as standard but does lack the premiumness that you would expect for this price. The only cooler thing we could think of is the 7-inch touch display for the passenger which by the way gets only limited functionality. Ferrari has made some beautiful-looking cars through the years and the 2022 Ferrari F8 Tributo is no different. The mid-sized Ferrari GT Berlinettas have always struck the perfect balance when it comes to design and proportions with the 2022 Ferrari F8 Tributo solidifying that statement. There are lots of cleverly designed vents and ducts improving aerodynamic efficiency while the Carbon fiber touches add to the overall sporty appeal. The L-shaped headlamps signify the new design revolution and are shared between all the latest gen Ferraris. Clean lines originate from the front, run unbroken to the rear to meet at the arch-like functional spoiler.

The rear is not the most delightful to look at but the twin cluster circular LED tail lamps undeniably identify as a Ferrari. The lower button has got some big diffusers with the exhaust cleverly tucked in higher with dual chrome tips. The 20-inch wheels complete the overall package and give the car its sporting stance. Rain sensing wipers, heated mirrors, remote trunk release are some of the features that come as part of the package.

The bigger exterior dimensions do extract marginally better rooms inside the Ferrari. The Huracan compromises a lot of cabin space for that sleek look and low curb weight. The McLaren 720 S meanwhile, manages to hit the right size and weight thanks to the extensive use of exotic materials for bodywork. Even though the 911 Turbo S is the smallest car here, thanks to the extra height over the competition, it feels normal to use on a daily basis with easy ingress and egress. Also, if you are planning to daily use one of these, the Porsche will be the better option as it is the better GT car here and also offers an extra pair of seats, which are unusable though. All that said, a Ferrari is a Ferrari and there are few better eye grabbers than one of these. So, if you need to save around 80 grand on cash, the Porsche is no lesser option.

If startline line speed is your thing, then these two come out to be absolute brutes in that regard. One could say the McLaren is a bit more efficient but the Ferrari feels more comfortable. But for someone like you and me, the Ferrari would be faster as it is more forgiving. Also, McLarens have got a bad reputation for being one of the most unreliable sports cars available which would again, make you think twice before getting one.
