If you thought the LaFerrari was fast, look at the acceleration figures of the McLaren P1 LM, With more horsepower even from a smaller displacement engine, the 996 hp McLaren makes it to 60 in just 2.4 seconds.

Ride and Handling

The suspension is stiffer by 10% to make it more suited to the track and you can tell that. The car remains composed through every corner no matter how hard you push it. There is an electronic differential coupled with the SSC (Side Slip Angle Control) system which allows you to have the perfect drift angle when going sideways.

When on the road, switch on the bumpy ride mode and it becomes extremely civilized and soft. The ride is really compliant and body control remains tight. The car still is very easy to drive and even to slide around considering the amount of power you have on tap.

The chassis is extremely well balanced. The steering remains unchanged and is sharp and responsive. Is it so sharp that you would feel that it might throw you off the road? Well, no. It just manages to be shy of that nervousness and that's a great thing because it always remains predictable.

The steering has the right amount of weight to it and you can always feel where exactly you are placing the car. It allows adequate feedback. There are a bunch of high-tech electronics holding the car together and they work so smoothly that you would only thank them for their intervention. Also, the Michelin Sport Cup 2 tyres provide extraordinary grip and stability.

Braking

With such immense power and acceleration, the hypercars deserve equally gargantuan brake discs to quickly shed speed through corners or in an emergency. The Carbon ceramic compound discs in the LaFerrari maintain their braking power throughout repeated braking.

Although the P1 LM has more horsepower and faster acceleration, it doesn't get larger brake discs, but with equally impressive handling characteristics, the McLaren keeps up with the LaFerrari through the track.

The economy from the 3.8L electric assist engine is even lower. With a combined mpg of 18, you'll find yourself heading to the gas station pretty frequently. However, you can't expect any less from a hypercar, where extravagance is the head keyword.

On the inside the Alcantara and carbon fiber covered surfaces makes the LaFerrari look like a LeMans car; minimal and performance focussed. Even the seats are designed with speed in mind. They are made of carbon fiber and wrapped in alcantara and it even comes with racing harness. Comfort is not the first priority here but they are deeply contoured and hold you well. They offer as much comfort as you would expect from such a car built for the purpose it is.

Infotainment System

Ferrari does not think you need an infotainment system in this car. Still, to satisfy your fascination with digital screens, there are two TFT-screens on the instrument panel itself on either side of the tachometer. The right screen offers various vehicle information like tyre pressure, brake temperature, G-force, speed, etc. The screen on the left is for the navigation and other multimedia functions. Nothing very fancy, all built to serve a purpose.

Cargo volume
