Once you step inside the Expedition, you will be presented with a gorgeous dashboard. The dash is quite large, with a vertical layout and the huge infotainment screen (in higher models) sits at the center. The choices of materials are also decent in the base trims, but as you move up the ladder, you are acquainted with better and more luxurious materials. The interior also has physical buttons for the climate controls, so you won’t have to take your eyes off during the ride. The base trim will offer cloth seats and basic materials which aren’t exactly too exciting.

However, you do get a leather steering wheel along with dual-zone automatic climate control and a power-adjustable driver's seat as standard. Once you move up to the Limited trim, you will be presented with leather upholstery and you also get leather bits in the door trim insert, dashboard, and other places. The steering wheel gets a heating function and is leather-wrapped in the Limited trim. The highest trim adds heated seats with premium leather upholstery. You will also be greeted with genuine wood trim and chrome interior accents with a leather upholstered dashboard.

Now, coming to the seating, you will be presented with the option to either go with a bench seat or go with captain’s chairs in the second row and there are up to 5 different interior color options. The captain’s chairs are probably the way to go if you want your passengers to have the most comfortable journey. That being said, spacing is pretty excellent for the front and second row. The first two rows are extremely spacious on all the SUVs listed above, as expected. However, when it comes to the third row, things tend to get a bit tight, especially for the Yukon. The Nissan Armada offers decent space but it has severely compromised headroom. On the other hand, Chevy Tahoe and the Yukon offer the most spacious rear row, but it is the 2022 Expedition that offers the best overall interior space.

Ford has seriously upgraded their tech game with the new 2022 Expedition. All trims will feature the massive 12-inch infotainment system that runs on Ford’s latest Sync 4. Optionally, you can also upgrade to Sync 4A which adds an even larger 15.5-inch HD display. Also, as an option, you can choose to go for the 12.4-inch digital driver’s gauge cluster. The system is excellent and it is also very responsive with crisp graphics and an easy-to-use interface. Standard features include HD radio, SiriusXM radio, wireless phone connection, AppLink, wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, Bluetooth, etc.

The standard cargo capacity of the GM SUVs is simply unbeatable. Therefore both the Tahoe and Yukon also have the maximum cargo space with all the rows down. The 2022 Armada doesn’t have the best cargo area and in fact, struggles in this regard against its rivals.

The base trim of the 2022 Expedition can’t hold a candle to its highest trim. However, that also comes at a price. Nevertheless, the Expedition has a good selection of materials; it feels luxurious and durable as well. It also comes with a pretty modern and high-tech dash with lots of standard features. Practicality is a very important aspect of the vehicle, and it offers excellent interior spacing and also decent cargo storage.
