The new Ford F-150 Raptor will upgrade itself to keep up with the standard 2021 Ford F-150. The Ford F-150 was completely redesigned in 2021 and received significant changes in various aspects making it a more attractive option against its rivals. Since the changes to the Ford F-150 Raptor were left out in 2021, it is most likely to get the same update with some specific design changes specific to the Raptor trim.

The 2022 Ford F-150 Raptor will differentiate itself from the other models with a bolder Ford badging on the front, more aggressive fenders, functional side vents, power dome hood with a new heat extractor, blacked-out headlights and taillights, steel bumpers, 17-inch off-road wheels, and a wider front skid plate. The Ford F-150 Raptor competes against the likes of the Nissan Titan Pro-4X Crew Cab, Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab, and the Toyota Tundra TRD Pro CrewMax.

We recommend

The 2022 Ford F-150 Raptor is a trim level of the Ford F-150 lineup and is designed for off-road lovers. The Ford F-150 Raptor comes with a very long list of features for the price. It also gets all the off-road kits as standard with the truck. The standard driver assistance features are also generous. Since the 2022 Ford F-150 Raptor is already an expensive option, we do not recommend any optional package as it gets all the important features as standard.

2022 Ford F-150 SuperCrew Raptor Release Date

There is no official announcement on the release date of the 2022 Ford F-150 Raptor yet. It is expected to launch in the fall of 2021. There is no official announcement on the pricing too and the pricing is also expected.

2022 Ford F-150 Raptor SuperCrew Engine and Performance

9.0/10

The Ford F-150 Raptor is expected to get a 3.5L TwinTurbo EcoBoost V6 engine under the hood. The power output of the 2022 model year is not revealed yet and we are expecting a slight jump in the power figures. The engine is expected to get at least the power and torque figures of the previous year’s model. We will be using the 2021 power and acceleration data for reference. The Ford F-150 Raptor produces 450 horsepower of maximum power while the maximum torque output is also impressive at 510 pound-feet. The engine is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission and the power is sent to all four wheels.

The performance of the Ford F-150 Raptor has always been a major highlight for the truck. It comes with one of the most powerful engines in the segment, if not the most powerful engine. Although pickup trucks are not meant for racing, the performance of the Ford F-150 Raptor is better than some of the SUVs. The Ford F-150 takes only 5.1 seconds to reach from 0 to 60 mph which is really fast for a pickup truck. The quarter-mile timing is also among the best in the segment at 13.7 seconds.

The biggest reason why someone would buy the Ford F-150 Raptor is its off-road capability and not for performance. The Ford F-150 doesn’t disappoint you in this regard and comes with some serious off-road capabilities. The 510 pound-feet of torque and all-wheel drive drivetrain gives it good traction off the road. The ground clearance is also one of the best in the segment at 12 inches. The F-150 Raptor gets locking rear differential is one more such feature to help it go off-road.

The handling of the Ford F-150 Raptor is also pretty good for a truck. It gets specially tuned suspension compared to the other trucks in the F-150 lineup. However, the main intention behind all that is not to improve the handling and it is more to make it better for off-road conditions. The ride quality is not one of the strong points of the Ford F-150 Raptor. Still, it is not bad and is good enough for highway cruising.

The Ford F-150 Raptor is already the most powerful truck in its competition. It is also way better than its key rivals in terms of outright acceleration. The 10-speed transmission makes it a smooth cruiser on the highways and off-road capabilities are also among the best for the segment. The 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab comes next to the F-150 Raptor in terms of performance but also comes with the least powerful engine. The 2021 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro CrewMax comes in the third position followed by the 2021 Nissan Titan Pro-4X Crew Cab at the last.

2022 Ford F-150 Raptor SuperCrew Fuel Economy

8.0/10

The fuel economy is never a strong point of any off-road-oriented vehicle as there is so much hardware working behind it. The Ford F-150 is no exception and delivers 15 mpg in the city, 18 mpg on the highway, and 16 mpg of combined fuel economy. The fuel economy is not that great but it is not too bad either. When the powerful gasoline engine is pulling such a heavy truck, the fuel economy is expected to fall. The Ford F-150 Raptor gets a massive 36-gallon fuel tank which helps it achieve a maximum highway range of 648 miles.

The 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab offers the best fuel efficiency in the competition. But it also comes with the smallest fuel tanks which make the highway range not so impressive when compared against the rivals. The 2021 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro CrewMax comes with the least-fuel efficient engine of the lot and the 6-speed transmission also does not do justice. The 2021 Nissan Titan Pro-4X Crew Cab and the 2022 Ford F-150 Raptor are very close in terms of fuel efficiency figures. However, the F-150 Raptor takes advantage of the Nissan Titan because of its bigger fuel tank.

2022 Ford F-150 Raptor SuperCrew Interior

7.0/10

The interior of the Ford F-150 Raptor is very similar to the standard Ford F-150. Still, there are a lot of special bits in the F-150 Raptor which helps it stand out from the other F-150 in the lineup. The interior gets brushed aluminum trims which adds ambiance to the cabin. The black interior adds a certain level of sportiness which compliments the performance of the Raptor. The seats are very comfortable and the front bucket seats get power adjustment for lumbar support and other adjustments too.

You get a very comfortable driving position and a commanding view of the road ahead. The visibility is not an issue at all and it feels like a truck even from the inside. The space in the rear seats is also on premium compared to the rivals in the segment. It offers a good balance of space in both rows and is a good option when it comes to space for the passengers. The storage inside the cabin is something that can be improved and you feel the lack of space for keeping your stuff in the cabin.

The 2022 Ford F-150 Raptor offers the best in class legroom and shoulder room for front and rear passengers against all its key rivals. Ford has managed the interior space very well to provide a spacious cabin. The cargo area of the F-150 Raptor is not the best in the segment but should be good enough for most people. The 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab comes with the largest cargo area in the segment. The 2021 Nissan Titan Pro-4X Crew Cab and the 2021 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro CrewMax come with a similar cargo area that sits in the middle. Standout interior features in the 2022 Ford F-150 SuperCrew Raptor are:

  • 8 -Way Power Driver Seat
  • Bucket Front Seats
  • Tilt And Telescopic Steering Wheel
  • Single-zone automatic climate control
  • Trip Computer
  • Remote Keyless Entry

How intuitive is the infotainment unit of the 2022 Ford F-150 Raptor>

The 2022 Ford F-150 Raptor gets a standard 8-inch touchscreen infotainment display. You can upgrade the infotainment screen to a bigger 12-inch vertical touchscreen display. The touchscreen system of the F-150 is rather functional and the competition offers a better infotainment system in the segment. But if you do not compare it with others, then it is indeed a good system. The graphics are not very sharp and it looks plain. When it comes to usability then there are no issues at all, and it is easier to use for people who are not tech-savvy.

The infotainment comes with a ton of connectivity options as standard. The connectivity options include Bluetooth connectivity, a Hands-free phone, USB ports. AM/FM radio, 4G LTE Wi-Fi, and Ford’s SYNC4. You also get wireless integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Standout infotainment features in the 2022 Ford F-150 SuperCrew Raptor are:

  • An 8-inch touchscreen infotainment display
  • The optional 12-inch touchscreen infotainment display
  • AM/FM radio
  • Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Ford’s SYNC
  • Audible Text Messaging

2022 Ford F-150 Raptor SuperCrew Exterior

9.0/10

The 2022 Ford F-150 will be carrying the new design of the Ford F-150 lineup introduced in 2021. Still, there will be many differentiating factors that set the Raptor apart from the standard F-150. The special designing bits reserved for the Ford F-150 Raptor includes 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, Raptor-specific suspension, locking rear differential, and raptor-specific fender flares and grille. The Ford badging on the front grille is also bolder on the Raptor which gives it a more intimidating look from the front.

The Ford F-150 Raptor is a rugged-looking truck from the outside and will appeal to many off-road enthusiasts. The exterior design language of the truck is inspired by the F-22 Raptor fighter jet. The side has not much drama going around it and looks similar to the standard F-150. The rear gets some difference in the design with blacked-out taillights.

The 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab is the longest truck in the competition and also gets the longest wheelbase. However, the 2022 Ford F-150 Raptor is the widest truck compared to other rivals, It also takes advantage in height with a small margin. One area where the F-150 Raptor remains unbeatable is the ground clearance and it gets 12-inch clearance which is the best in the segment. Chevy loses the battle here and comes with the least ground clearance. Standout exterior features in the 2022 Ford F-150 SuperCrew Raptor are:

  • 17-inch wheels
  • LED headlights
  • Raptor-specific fender flares and grille
  • Bolder Ford badging on the front grille
  • Variable intermittent wipers

2022 Ford F-150 Raptor SuperCrew Safety

6.0/10

The 2022 Ford F-150 Raptor has not been crash-tested by any agency yet. The 2021 F-150 received an impressive overall crash test rating of 4 out of 5 stars by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The Ford F-150 Raptor is based on the Ford T platform. The Raptor is made of high-strength materials and the ruggedness is visible when you close the doors of the Raptor. To sum it up, safety should not be a concern for the F-150 Raptor buyers, as Ford has ensured to make a design that keeps you and your family safe inside the cabin. Safety features include in the 2022 Ford F-150 SuperCrew Raptor are:

  • Forward collision mitigation
  • Blind-spot monitor

2022 Ford F-150 Raptor SuperCrew Competition

2022 Ford F-150 Raptor vs. 2021 Nissan Titan Pro-4X Crew Cab

The 2021 Nissan Titan Pro-4X Crew Cab has always been among the top picks of the truck buyers in the segment but it does not come close to Ford F-150 Raptor in terms of popularity. The Ford F-150 comes with better reliability and a more modern cabin. It also comes with better interior space and is more capable off the road. The only area where the Nissan Titan goes ahead is the cargo area. Still, we find the Ford F-150 to be a better choice in the comparison here.

2022 Ford F-150 Raptor vs. 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab

The Chevy Silverado 1500 Crew Cab is the closest rival to the Ford F-150 Raptor. The Chevy Silverado and Ford F-150 have always been the closest competitors in the segment. The legendary rivalry between the two is not just from the GM or Ford badge, but they are actually great products. You can not go wrong with any of them and the decision depends on your priorities and preferences.

2022 Ford F-150 Raptor vs. 2021 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro CrewMax

The 2021 Toyota TRD Pro has been a great choice in the segment among off-road enthusiasts. The off-road capability of the Toyota Tundra has been the reason why it has become so popular among the buyers and the reliability of Toyota has taken that to the next level. But now it has become a very outdated option and we are expecting a complete redesign in 2022. For a better-balanced truck for off-road and highway, the Ford F-150 Raptor remains our pick.

2022 Ford F-150 Raptor SuperCrew Final Verdict

The new Ford F-150 Raptor with the redesign will bring a fresh look for the Raptor, The popularity of Raptor over all these years has shown the strength of this product. The relatively modern cabin and rugged design make it a great choice for a pickup truck in the market. The off-road capability of the Raptor is undoubtedly among the best in the segment. If you are looking for a pickup truck in a similar price range, then you should have a look at the Ford F-150 Raptor.
