In the segment that comprises mostly affordable workhorses, the Colorado based GMC Canyon is the pick of the lot if luxury is of importance to you. The diesel powertrain is what brings you higher towing capabilities with the higher torque output than the base gasoline mill and the much higher fuel efficiency while the Denali is the top of the line trim that adds a premium appeal to the truck. The GMC Canyon offers great maneuverability in the tight city spaces and offers a comfortable ride over most surfaces.
The 2022 model year sees no changes and is carried forward as it is from last year and the only new element is the new Denali Black Edition packages that blacks out certain exterior trims on the Denali. Priced at an MSRP of $49,625, the Denali diesel is offered as standard only in the crew cab variant with the four-wheel drive drivetrain. Not many rivals offer a diesel powertrain with these midsize trucks and hence the Canyon Denali diesel only competes against its sibling the Chevrolet Colorado diesel and the Jeep Gladiator diesel.
