The 2022 Honda Accord is a midsize family sedan that is one of the best-known and beloved names in the segment. It offers exciting driving dynamics, two decent engine options to choose from, and an efficient Hybrid engine on offer. It comes with a clean-cut exterior design and has an equally attractive and practical interior. The 2022 Accord is a carryover model from the 2021 with a slight change in the trim lineup for the Hybrid variant.

2022 Honda Accord Dashboard

The 2022 Accord boasts an exuberantly spacious cabin with an equally spacious trunk making it the most practical sedan in the segment. A simple and efficiently designed cabin with an equally impressive infotainment system adds to the perfectness. 2022 Honda Accord comes at a price of $25,470 for the base trim and competes against rivals such as Hyundai Sonata, Toyota Camry, and Nissan Altima.

2022 Honda Accord Interior Design, Dimensions, and Comfort

The 2022 Accord has a streamlined cabin design that is very well organized and has all the buttons and dials placed in a convenient position for the driver. The dash features a big curve that is disrupted by a piece of trim available in either metallic or wood grain surfaces. An 8.0-inch touchscreen rests on top of the climate controls in the center of the dash. The 2022 Accord comes in a total of six trims and features like dual-zone automatic climate control, and push-button start is available right from the base trim, while power-adjustable seats become available from the Sport trim and above. The top EX-L and Touring trims come with more quirky features like heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats as well.

2022 Honda Accord Front Seats

The base LX trim comes with cloth upholstered seats in a choice of Black or Ivory with silver inserts. The Sport trim adds a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The Sport SE and EX-L trims feature leather upholstery and the top Touring trim comes with Perforated leather upholstery. Every trim except the base LX comes with a leather-wrapped shift knob and higher trims get the leather-wrapped steering wheel and woodgrain interior trim. Speaking of seating comfort, there is abundant space inside the cabin in both rows. Even with a sloping roofline, there is abundant headroom inside the Accord. Though the spec sheet for the Accord says it can seat five people, the middle seat in the second row will cause discomfort over a long journey.

Rear Row (Head/Shoulder/Leg) (in)

Hyundai Sonata has a spacious front row and offers the best legroom. However, this big front row takes up significant space from the second row making it feel packed. The 2022 Honda Accord offers the most space in the rear row and in all earnest is the most practical car in the segment. Nissan Altima is the least spacious amongst the listed rivals.

2022 Honda Accord Infotainment

Standard across all the trims in the 2022 Accord is the new 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is much more intuitive and easy to use than the system present in the previous generation Accord. It does not have a lot of features or customizable options but comes with ergonomic controls and simple gestures that help you get along with it easily. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are available right from the base trim while higher trims get access to wireless integration for the same apps.

2022 Honda Accord Infotainment System

The standard sound system is a four-speaker setup that gets upgraded to an eight-speaker setup when moving up to the Sport trim. A ten-speaker system with a 450-watt amplifier is standard on the EX-L and Touring trim. Features like navigation, wireless device charging, HD Radio and SiriusXM satellite radio are also available on higher trims.

Key Infotainment Features

  • 8.0-inch touchscreen display
  • Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
  • SiriusXM Satellite Radio
  • 10-speaker sound system
  • HD Radio
  • Navigation
  • Wifi Hotspot
  • Wireless phone charger.

2022 Honda Accord Cargo Capacity

Don’t be fooled by the sloping roofline of the 2022 Accord as it has a hinged trunk lid that opens up to a generous 16.7 cubic feet cargo trunk. The space is enough to fit in up to a month’s worth of groceries or enough luggage required by a small family for a short weekend trip.

2022 Honda Accord Cargo Space

The rear seats come in a 60/40 split-folding configuration however they do not fold fully flat which does not increase the overall trunk space but lets you fit bulkier items with ease. The seat on the base trim folds down in a single piece.

Standard Cargo Capacity (ft³)

Maximum Cargo Capacity (ft³)

The 2022 Honda Accord is the most practical car in the segment for a reason. It not only offers a spacious cabin but also, comes with a spacious trunk as well. Hyundai Sonata follows closely with a 16 cubic feet cargo trunk. Nissan Altima and Toyota Camry have similarly sized trunks but fall short in terms of available space.

Additional Interior Storage Spaces

The only drawback about the 2022 Accord seems to be the modest amount of storage space offered in the cabin. A center console storage bin is present which offers decent space. Also, adequately sized door pockets are present on all four doors. And the glove box is also big enough to store items like wallets and smartphones.

Front and rear cupholders, driver-side seat back pockets and a dedicated slot to store your sunglasses sum up all the available space for storage inside the cabin.

2022 Honda Accord Creature Comforts

Honda has done justice when it comes to the list of features that they offer with the 2022 Accord. The base trim is priced at $25,470 and for the price, you get features like Dual-zone automatic climate control, push-button start, and manually adjustable front seats. A 12-way power-adjustable seat driver seat, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a power moonroof are available on the Sport trim while Sport SE trim adds leather upholstery, power-adjustable, and heated front seats, proximity keyless entry, and remote start.

The EX-L trim and the Sport trim share a lot of features and the top Touring trim is fruitfully equipped with heated and ventilated front seats with power-adjustability, a Navigation system, Wifi hotspot heated rear outboard seats, and a head-up display.

The 2022 Honda Accord comes with a neat and simple cabin layout and offers generous space all around the cabin. Higher trims come loaded with features whereas lower trims do skimp on features but also come at a lower price. The low amount of storage space offered inside the cabin seems to be the only inconvenience. Rest assured, the 2022 Accord is almost perfect and remains unrivaled in the interior game.
