2020 Honda CR-V Interior Design, Dimensions, and Comfort
Besides its sharp exterior outlook, the sumptuous cabin is the 2020 CR-V’s strong point. For 2020 MY, Honda completely restyled the CR-V's interior with better quality materials and a new layout. It now feels more spacious and premium than the previous model. Also, the refreshed CR-V boasts the most stylish dashboard in its class. It comes with a cockpit-styled gear console and is canted at a 45-degree angle for better ergonomics. Moreover, all the trims feature a leather-trimmed dashboard, but the inserts vary with the trims.
The base CR-V LX trim is accented with metal-look interior accents and black plastic inserts but as you move up the trim ladder you can find wooden inserts and piano black accents. Apart from that, you can also find a leather-trimmed, multifunction, heated steering wheel in EX-L trim and above.
Coming to the interior seating space and comfort, the 2020 CR-V has one of the largest cabins in the segment with a passenger volume rated at 105.9 cubic feet. With two rows of seating, the Honda's SUV can seat 5 people comfortably and the seats are wrapped in cloth upholstery. The base LX trim comes equipped with manually-adjustable front seats but that can be upgraded to power-adjustable front bucket seats wrapped in leather upholstery in EX-L and above. The seats feel very comfortable thanks to the soft cushioning and you have plenty of legroom even for taller adults.
For extra comfort, the front seats can be optioned with lumbar support, memory settings, and a heating function. Coming to the rear, you get a 60/40 split-folding bench seat standard that can accommodate three people easily. Similar to the front, the rear seats feel very cozy and have plenty of legroom on offer. At legroom front/rear: 41.3 in / 40.4, the CR-V has adequate passenger room in the front as well as the back.

All cars in the competition provide seating for 5 people as standard. However, the 2020 Nissan Rogue has the most spacious cabin in the competition courtesy of its tall ride height. However, the design looks a bit dated compared to the refreshed CR-V’s cabin. 2020 Mazda CX-5 comes second in terms of passenger volume and seating space. Moreover, it oozes premium vibes. But when it comes to legroom, none of the cars in the competition offer balanced space between the two rows except the Honda CR-V.
2020 Honda CR-V Infotainment Features
The 2020 Honda CR-V comes equipped with a 5-inch infotainment display and a 4-speaker stereo system. The base infotainment unit is sparsely equipped and is devoid of modern connectivity such as Apple Carplay. As you move up the trim ladder, you get a 7-inch high-resolution touchscreen display. The display is great but the touch response is a little slow. Almost all the infotainment functions are to be controlled via the display except the climate control unit which can be controlled via physical knobs and buttons.
Other infotainment features include HD Radio, satellite radio, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, navigation, and wireless device charging. Moreover, you can upgrade the audio system to either a 6-speaker stereo when you get the CR-V EX trim or an 8-speaker stereo unit if you get the EX-L trim. Opting for the top-end Honda CR-V Touring trim gets you a 9-speaker premium sound system.

2020 Honda CR-V Cargo Space
The 2020 Honda CR-V offers a great 39.2 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats, which can swallow a generous number of bags and suitcases. For loading larger and heavier items, you can fold the split-folding rear seats down which increases the capacity to 75.8 cubic feet. Apart from the classy interior and a decent infotainment system, the 2020 CR-V is known for its practicality.
Moreover, the rear decklid is large; so loading and unloading isn’t a hassle. The 2020 CR-V hybrid has an impressive 39 cubic feet of space behind the second-row seat and 75.8 cubic feet when the seat is folded down.

The 2020 CR-V offers the most cargo space among the competition in the compact SUV class. Nissan Rogue comes with the second-best standard cargo capacity but when you fold down the rear seats, the RAV4 offers almost equal space. Mazda CX-5, however, concentrated more on the interior part and since it is smaller, its cargo capacity took a hit.
Additional Interior Storage Spaces
At the front, you can find a mobile compartment paired with a wireless mobile phone charger, two heated cup holders, a storage compartment under the armrest, and door bins on each door. Coming to the rear, you can find two cup holders, front seatback pockets, and two-door bins.
