There are very few brands that offer minivans; so if you’re looking for one, there are high chances you'll stumble upon the Honda Odyssey. If you want to accommodate your family under one roof, want something pleasant for road trips, or haul people from one destination to another, the 2022 Honda Odyssey is a practical choice. It offers seats for eight people, decent interior room and comfort, a good infotainment system, and a decent cargo trunk.

2022 Honda Odyssey Dashboard

The Honda Odyssey doesn’t boast any major changes in the 2022 model MY. It only comes with a couple of minor changes. A new color, Radiant Red Metallic II, joins the palette, along with the discontinuation of the integrated vacuum cleaner due to supplier issues. The 2022 Honda Odyssey starts at $33,040 and goes up against the likes of the Kia Carnival, Toyota Sienna, and Chrysler Pacifica.

2022 Honda Odyssey Interior Design, Dimensions, and Comfort

The interior of the 2022 Odyssey isn’t as rich as the Kia Carnival or the Toyota Sienna, but it seems durable and offers better ergonomics than found in the competitors. The acute-angled dashboard design not only looks cool but also offers better functionality. And the upper dashboard is upholstered in black leatherette on all the trims while the lower dashboard is covered in beige or gray leatherette as standard. The EX-L trim on the other hand, has brown leatherette trim on the lower dashboard, while the Elite gets black leatherette trim on the lower dashboard. Besides that, you also get a fully digital color instrument cluster and a multi-function steering wheel. However, the lower trims, like the LX and EX, come with a urethane wrapped steering wheel which can be upgraded to a leather-wrapped steering wheel as you move up the trim ladder..

2022 Honda Odyssey Front Seats

Coming to the seats, 2022 Odyssey can seat 7 people in its base config but you can upto 8 people if equipped properly. You get excellent head and legroom in all the rows along with adequate padding for comfort and support. The base LX trim comes equipped with a power-adjustable driver’s seat, while the higher trims get power-adjustable and heated front seats. The Elite trim adds ventilation function too. Speaking of seats, the LX and EX trims come standard with cloth seats while the EX-L and above get leather seats as standard. Moreover, the minivan comes equipped with 60/40 split-folding third-row and second-row Magic seats on all the trims except the LX. It misses out on the Magic-slide 2nd-row seats. Additionally, the cabin feels quiet and peaceful thanks to the sound insulation. Also, Lower trims come standard with single-zone climate control, while the EX trim and above gets tri-zone automatic climate control with rear AC vents.

Second Row (Head/Shoulder/Leg) (in)

Third Row (Head/Shoulder/Leg) (in)

Chrysler Pacifica offers the most interior space in the lot but the 2022 Odyssey seems to offer a more balanced cabin space in all three rows. Pacifica and Carnival have compromised third row space for a more spacious front row. But when it comes to shoulder room, Pacifica and Carnival are pretty wide and they show. However, in terms of design and creature comforts, we will rate the Toyota Sienna first, followed by the Kia Carnival.

2022 Honda Odyssey Infotainment

2022 Odyssey LX comes equipped with a pretty basic infotainment system. The infotainment system is easy to operate owing to the user-friendly interface and buttons. The display offers crisp graphics and touch response is smooth.

On the other hand, the Toyota Sienna offers marginally better standard cargo space when compared to the Pacifica and Odyssey but when it comes to maximum cargo space, it is very low.

Additional Interior Storage Spaces

2022 Odyssey has plenty of secondary storage options. The front row comes equipped with a small compartment in the lower dashboard for storing mobile phones and wallets, along with a pair of cup holders, an illuminated and cooled glovebox on the front passenger side, and a storage compartment in the center console. The second row offers a pair of cup holders and a mobile space in the middle seat. The third row also offers a pair of cup holders.
