The Hyundai Santa Fe is a comfortable and spacious SUV with a ready-to-conquer attitude. It brings in a ton of practicality and the fact that it doesn’t come with a third row of seats means that it has a lot of space on the inside. Hyundai has always managed to offer a great mix of quality and technology in their products and the 2022 Santa Fe is a great example of their drive.

2022 Hyundai Santa Fe Dashboard

2022 Hyundai Santa Fe has a striking and bold exterior design, spacious cabin, and ability to wade through all kinds of terrains thanks to the HTRAC all-wheel-drive system. This makes it a great choice for people looking for an SUV. The 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe is available in five trim options with its prices starting from $28,500. It competes with the likes of the 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan, 2022 Nissan Murano, and the 2022 Ford Edge.

2022 Hyundai Santa Fe Interior Design, Dimensions, and Comfort

2022 Santa Fe seems to have quite an amazing cabin; it’s not flamboyant but has simple and subtle elements neatly integrated with some impressive infotainment features. The cabin can be configured in both single and dual-tone color layout. The dashboard has neatly laid out HVAC vents as well a host of buttons on the center console as well as leatherette upholstery on the surface. The brushed aluminum finish on the steering wheel, HVAC vents, and the drive select buttons do stand out. You can find other buttons on the center console which are controls for the heated steering wheel, heated seats, audio system as well as dual-zone automatic climate control unit. There’s also a knob that helps you change the different driving modes such as comfort, sport, snow, and more. You can also get a panoramic sunroof.

2022 Hyundai Santa Fe Seat Details

The front row comes standard with 8-way power-adjustable heated seats with stain-free cloth upholstery. Higher trim levels get heated and ventilated seats with premium Nappa leather upholstery as well. The power lumbar support and cushion extension further help you set the seat as per your requirements and comfort. The second-row seats are 60-40 split seats with a great deal of space. The windows in the second row are quite large which contributes to a better view of the outside world. The seats can also fold flat to make space for cargo whenever necessary.

From the above table, it does seem quite evident that the Hyundai Santa Fe is one of the most spacious SUVs in the segment apart from the Ford Edge. But when it comes to legroom, Santa Fe is absolutely bonkers. 2022 Edge has better headroom and shoulder room but legroom wise it lags a bit behind. Tiguan feels smaller and cramped compared to the rest of the cars in the lineup.

2022 Hyundai Santa Fe Infotainment

The 2022 Santa Fe comes with an 8-inch touchscreen display t as standard while the higher trim options also offer a 10.25-inch touchscreen display. Apart from that, you also get a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster as well. While the standard infotainment unit supports Wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto upgrading to the higher trim requires wired connection. Apart from the touch, you also get physical control buttons and knobs.

2022 Hyundai Santa Fe Infotainment System

As standard, you get a 6-speaker audio system while you can also opt for a 630-watt 12-speaker Harman/Kardon premium surround sound system and a subwoofer on selecting the higher trim options. Other infotainment features include navigation, HD Radio and wireless device charging.

2022 Hyundai Santa Fe Cargo Capacity

2022 Santa Fe also comes with a decent cargo trunk as well. The standard capacity available inside Santa Fe is 36.4 cu-ft. and it can be extended to up to 72.1 cu-ft. by folding the rear seats.

2022 Hyundai Santa Fe Cargo Space

The optional hands free tailgate access feature for the cargo entry also comes in handy when you need to load some cargo when your hands are full.

2022 Ford Edge is the best in the segment when it comes to cargo space. Tiguan seems like it traded up interior space to add more cargo space. However, 2022 Santa Fe offers the best of both worlds. You get an incredible interior passenger space in both rows as well as excellent cargo capacity. Nissan Murano is comparatively smaller than the rest of the rivals in the segment and thus its cargo space is affected.

Additional Interior Storage Spaces

2022 Santa Fe has a small storage bin on the center console as well as a cupholder. There is also a wireless charging pad underneath the center console. The front armrest has a small storage space underneath it while the rear armrest holds a pair of cupholders. The glove box in the front is quite generous in terms of space while there are small door bins on all four doors as well as seatback pockets behind the first row seats.

2022 Hyundai Santa Fe Creature Comforts

Speaking of creature comforts, the 2022 Santa Fe gets cloth upholstery as standard. SEL trim gets heated front seats along with a power-adjustable driver’s seat while the higher trims offer heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and even a heated steering wheel option. The center console comes with an optional wireless charging pad which is a boon for people who have compatible phones.

The Hyundai Digital Key app helps you with various things such as starting the engine, locking the doors, opening the trunk, and more. Moreover, you can opt for the Convenience package in SEL trim which adds dual-zone automatic climate control, power-folding rear seats, rear sunshades, and a hands-free power liftgate. Also, you can opt for the Premium package which adds leather upholstery, a power-adjustable front passenger seat and a panoramic sunroof.

Verdict

The 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe is surely one of the most spacious SUVs in its segment and it is amazing how Hyundai has managed to offer a classy and comfortable cabin with a touch of modern technology integrated perfectly inside. While the base trim starts off a pretty bare bones SUV, it gets better and better as you climb up the trim ladder. Surprisingly, Calligraphy trim offers premium features that you can find on luxury SUVs at a fraction of their price.
