The newly redesigned 2022 Infiniti QX60 is coming with the same 295 hp 3.5L V-6. However, the former CVT has been replaced by the new 9-speed automatic transmission. It is available in 4 trims namely the Pure, Luxe, Sensory, and the Autograph at a starting price of $46,850. Also, each trim comes with FWD as a standard that can be upgraded to AWD at an extra $2,000 at the least. Its revised 9-accent opulent interior retains the 3-row seating along with its cargo capacity of up to 75.4 cu-ft.

The 2022 QX60 can tow up to 6,000 lbs that are 1000 lbs more than its predecessor. Not just that, the 16-exterior color options on offer allow one to customize its appeal as per preference. As far as its lease deal is concerned, the expense settles at $729/month for 42 months with a down payment of $2,999. Moreover, it rivals against the likes of the Acura MDX, Lexus RX 350L, and the Cadillac XT6. Regarding its release date, it will be available by the fall of 2021.

"Infiniti's mid-size three-row QX60 is all new for the 2022 model year and aims to move significantly up-market to win the hearts of premium-SUV buyers"- Car and Driver

The 2022 Infiniti QX60 has undergone major changes including its newly introduced 9-speed automatic transmission. Its 4-trim level begins with the Pure trim at an MSRP of $46,850 that goes up to $60,350 for the Autograph configuration. However, the AWD layout in these trims costs an additional $2,000 to $3,000 over the standard FWD. The 295 hp 3.5L V-6 under the hood is another performance asset that assists it in accelerating from 0-60 mph in less than 7 seconds.

Considering the finance, the destination fee for the 2022 QX60 comes around $1,025 while the yearly maintenance cost stands at $638. In addition, the insurance charges rest approximately at $ 1,747 every year. Also, the expected depreciated price, after 5-year of ownership with an average of 12,000 miles/year, will be reduced to almost $22,189. This balance sheet might go even higher if packages like the Tow Package at $900 and Vision Package at $1,500 are preferred.

2022 Infiniti QX60 Buying Advice

Considering the segment, the Sensory trim makes the most sense among all. The power-adjustable front seats with heat and massage functions are simply apt for one's comfort. The heating convenience is there for the 2nd-row seats as well. Further, it gets the17-speaker Bose Performance Series Sound System as a standard that keeps the musical notes high. Getting all such tech-ends and ease, hence, seems to justify the $56,350 price tag.

2022 Infiniti QX60 Engine and Performance

6.0/10

"Nissan and Infiniti make some of the better CVTs in the industry, but even so this new transmission responds quicker when you need acceleration and is less prone to producing a droning engine sound during acceleration"- Edmunds

The 2022 Infiniti QX60 continues with the same 3.5L V6 that churns out the power of 295 hp and a torque of 270 lb-ft. It is coupled with a new 9-speed automatic transmission while the CVT has been called off the line. This power curve is then translated to the wheels via a standard FWD layout. In addition to that, the AWD can also be availed of by spending an extra $2,000.

The 2022 QX60 feels flexible in its drive with its 4 different modes such as the Standard, Sport, Snow, and Eco. Also, the dual-flow path suspension is relatively firm that is capable of dampening the undulation quite conveniently. However, with adjustable suspension and 20 hp more power surge, the Volvo XC90 can have a slightly more off-road yet premium maneuvering.

The Infiniti QX60 ticks 0-60 MPH acceleration in 6.5 sec and can cover a quarter-mile in nearly 16.5 seconds with a top speed of 120 MPH. Moreover, the 13.8-inch ventilated disc rotors with dual calipers in the front and 13-inch in the rear have been attached to the wheels as well to restrict such prowess. The Electronic Brake Distribution and Brake Assist are other braking units that accompany them.

"Clever packaging in the doors, underneath the console, and in the cargo floor open up more space inside, but the true charm inside is the second-row seats." - The Car Connection

The interior of the 2022 Infiniti QX60 has been adorned with practicality and opulence. The range-topping Autograph can be differentiated with exclusive 9-interior Semi-Aniline Seating accents with respective contrast stitchings. While, the QX60 gets power-adjustable seats with heating functions in the Pure and Luxe trims that adjoin the massage function in the Sensory configurations.

The 2022 QX60 also receives heat-assist for the 2nd-row alongside a one-touch release for easy ingress and egress for the 3rd row. Furthermore, its inherent 7-seater theater-style allows for flexible space management with cargo capacity ranging from 14.5 cu-ft to 75.4 cu-ft. "The previous SUV had an element of ‘90s bubble-era shaping to it, but the newest model ditches the bulbous lines and bloated look in favor of taut sheetmetal that looks vastly more modern"- Motor1

The new 2022 Infiniti QX60 has been given a revamped design from the ground up. The front fascia incorporates signature LED headlights with HighBeam Assist for automatic intensity adjustment. The 16-exterior colors such as the Moonbow Blue and Warm Titanium further expand the horizon of bringing about the changes as per one's desire.

2022 Infiniti QX60 Safety

5.0/10

"The QX60 brings to bear some of the best safety tech that Infiniti has to offer" - CNET Roadshow

The 2022 Infiniti QX60 has not been rated by the IIHS and NHTSA yet. But considering the 2020 model year does hint that the 5-star NHTSA and "Good" IIHS safety ratings are going to be as it is in the new model as well. Moreover, it has also been part of the "Top Safety Pick" Award in the past which is another plus in its pursuit. On top of that, some of the safety features of Infiniti's ProPilot Assist system are as follows:

  • Forward collision warning with automated emergency braking
  • Lane centering system
  • Advanced Cruise Control
  • Lane departure warning with lane-keeping assist
  • Semi-autonomous driving mode
  • Traffic light recognition system
  • The backup collision intervention system

2022 Infiniti QX60 Competition

 2022 INFINITI QX60 vs 2022 Acura MDX

The 2022 INFINITI QX60 has better acceleration while the MDX outperforms in quarter-mile drag. So, on the whole, they can be rated at par in performance parameter. However, with better range practicality the QX60 does take the edge over the latter. On the flip side, the interior spaciousness and volume favor the MDX. Therefore, both of them are equally desirable.

 2022 INFINITI QX60 vs 2022 Lexus RX 350L

The 2022 INFINITI QX60 has got an upper hand in range reach and interior space management over the Lexus RX 350L. Meanwhile, the RX 350L comes with better acceleration and a higher top speed that improve its performance dynamics. But it has to be QX60 between the two for its perfect balance between performance and premium luxury.

2022 INFINITI QX60 vs 2022 Cadillac XT6

The XT6 has a much more balanced cabin than the QX60. The same stands true for engine performance and relative top speed as well. Except for the range figures, the QX60 hardly manages to outclass the XT6. Therefore, the Cadillac should be given preference between the two.

2022 Infiniti QX60 Final Verdict

The all-new 2022 Infiniti QX60 is simply one of the finest SUVs in the market. It has a perfect blend of performance and luxury at its disposal. The road presence and redesigned curvature also appeal to the masses. But the market does have a worthy SUV like the Cadillac XT6 too. So, QX60 can be taken into consideration if the XT6 does not fit your style.
