When Jaguar initially launched the F- Pace back in 2017, it took the crossover market by storm. Afterall, it was the first SUV from the esteemed Brittish marquee which was known to make some exhotic sedans and sports cars. Right from its grand launch event where it flexed its muscles, to two years down the line, the F- Pace has undoubtedly been one of the best SUVs in its class. Its a car that not only promises a lot, but also lives upto them.
Still into is first generation, the F- Pace now moves into its 2020 model year, with some significant changes. Part of the changes for 2020 include addition of some more standard safety and tech features, introduction of a new power-packed SVR trim, updated infotainment screen and a bigger fuel tank. Not a thorough overall, but yes, these changes do add-up to the overall persona of the F- Pace. The updates also present the 2020 F- Pace as a more complete package to buyers who also consider the Porsche Cayenne, Maserati Levante, Audi Q8, BMW X5 and Range Rover Sport.

There are lot of things that make the F- Pace stand out in its class. It looks stunning, has roomy first and second row of seats along with a generous cargo space, handles like a sports car. Apart from this it has some serious SUV capabilities and is also powered by some mighty powertrains. These are pretty much the requirements that a sporty SUV wearing the Jaguar badge. However, where the F- Pace lets itself down is the below average interior fit and finish, compared to its competitors and yes, with the thrust upon sportiness, it does trade off someof its ride quality.

With such an impressive acceleration the F-Pace once again leads the class followed by X5 and the Q8. Then come the Levante, Cayenne and the Range Rover Sport HSE.
Ride and Handling
The 2020 Jaguar F-Pace feels pretty smooth to be handled on curvy and tight roads. This is because of its ease to change its directions while still holding the line. But due to a very stiff suspension, it might get a little bumpy on the rugged paths when at speed.
Moreover, the transmission feels quite responsive and its high ground clearance and its all-wheel-drive system make it run with ease on all types of terrains. However, you cannot expect it to be an off-roader
Braking
The braking pedals of the 2020 Jaguar F-Pace look quite optimum and help in providing smooth braking. Although their sizes are not yet available, they are sufficient enough to stop it at a distance of 121 ft while traveling at a speed of 60MPH.

Although the braking performance of most of the competition is not yet available, with the available stats, it can be said that the breaking of the F-Pace looks a little sluggish when compared to that of the Levante.

2020 Jaguar F-PACE Competition
2020 Jaguar F-Pace S vs Land Rover Range Rover Sport SE
The Land Rover Range Rover Sport SE has been in the market for quite some time now. On the other hand it’s the third year for the F-Pace into the market. Although the both of them come with a 3.0 Liter Supercharged V6 engine, the F-Pace is a more power packed performer in all the aspects. However the Range Rover Sport still maintains an upper hand when it comes interior space and luxury. Also, it seems to be a better off-roader. However with a much economic price, the F-Pace still stands as a better option
2020 Jaguar F-Pace S vs Audi Q8
The Audi Q8 has made its debut into the market for the first time. However it has taken its stance in the market right after its debut. However with a power supercharged V6 engine, the F-Pace still stands as a tough rival to be brought down both in terms of power and performance. Although with a poor infotainment system makes it fall back. This is because the Audi Q8 has made its debut packed up with advanced technological features. So basically if you are looking into the Q8 it’s because of its technological aspects and not the performance aspects.
2020 Jaguar F-Pace S vs BMW X5
It has been a long time that the BMW X5 has been on the market. Thus it very well knows how to maintain its stance without being disturbed by any newcomers. Although the supercharged V6 engine of the F-Pace is quite powerful, than the X5, the BMW X5 performs on par with the F-Pace in most of the aspects. Moreover its fuel economy is more, infotainment system is superior and also has quite a spacious and luxurious interior. So this could be a table turner that offers you more at the same price.
2020 Jaguar F-PACE Final Verdict
The 2020 Jaguar F-Pace is still part of the first generation. Still, it holds a variety of trims with many luxurious features and a quite a differentiating powertrains. It sure is worth what it is being paid for but still aspects such as the infotainment system and a few other technical aspects are yet to be worked upon.
