2018 Jaguar F-PACE Problems
Electrical issues:
- Infotainment issues: The infotainment screen in the F-Pace often used to freeze and turn blank. This causes a delay in operation as well as a distraction to the driver. Apart from this, people have reported the infotainment system not switching off when the SUV is off. This “staying awake” drains the whole battery.
- Backup camera issues: Complimentary to the infotainment problems is the backup camera. People have reported the rear-view camera to not switch when the car is put in drive. If driven in this state, the SUV lights up many warnings in the instrument console. The dealerships give the whole unit a hard reset but the issue pops up again.
- Start/stop issues: The auto start/stop in the F-Pace is reported to be very shoddy. This results in the SUV not starting up when it comes to a stop. The car has to be restarted multiple times for the system to work properly.
- Improper fuel gauge reading: People have reported the fuel gauge to give an incorrect reading and cause confusion. Some people have reported having issues when their SUV stalled due to low fuel and did not crank, while the gauge showed nearly 23 miles left.
Mechanical issues:
- “Performance Restriction Warning (PRW)” indicator: Some owners have reported the PRW indicator to illuminate, followed by an engine stall. In some cases, there are complaints of smoke emitting from the tailpipes. The dealerships repaired the engine, if possible, or replaced the whole unit.
- Suspension separation: One complainant reported the suspension separated from the SUV and caused a loss in handling. The person had to get the front suspensions changed and did not rate Jaguar’s dealership at a high note.
