"The 335-hp supercharged V-6 is king of the XF powertrain monarchy, but it’s slower than most high-performance rivals and lacks auditory authority" - Car an Driver
The supercharged 3.0-liter V6 engine produces 340 horsepower at 6500 rpm, putting it ahead of the A6 and 540i, which produce 333 and 335 horsepower, respectively. If that isn't enough, the twin-turbo 3.0 liter V6 with 380 horsepower present in the S trim of the 2017 XF offers a more thrilling driving experience.
Depending on the specification, power may be sent to just the rear wheels or all four wheels of the XF, but they all feature an efficient 8-Speed Automatic ZF transmission that responds quickly in any gear. In both the A6 and the 540i, the Germans offer a similar 8-speed transmission.

The base model of the 2017 Jaguar Xf is priced lower than both the main rivals. While the Audi comes with AWD system as standard, it is optional on the XF. The Jaguar also features the option for a 4-cylinder diesel engine rated at 180 hp and 318 lb-ft of torque.
Acceleration
The 0-60mph timings show significant improvement from the previous generation XFs as it reaches 60 mph from a standstill in just 5 seconds on par with the 540i and also happens to be two-tenths of a second quicker than the A6. The quarter-mile run is completed in just 13.3 seconds which is also the same as the 540i and is a lot quicker than Audi’s 13.8-second run.

The acceleration is similar across the range with the BMW and Jaguar edging out the Audi. The Audi's standard Quattro AWD system does give it more traction, but is offset by its weight.
Handling and Ride
Due to a variety of technical advancements, such as the 50-50 weight distribution, the lightweight aluminium chassis, and a sophisticated torque vectoring system that decreases any amount of understeer on turns, the new Jaguar XF boasts remarkable driving characteristics for an executive saloon of its class. The XF's AWD and RWD drivetrains are capable of handling any road condition.
The Suspension intelligently reacts to the driver's style and road undulations by switching between firm and soft settings on the fly. Although Jaguar has concentrated on performance this time, the ride is as polished as possible and will meet the high demands of luxury car purchasers who are notoriously difficult to please. The steering input is decent, and it does an excellent job of inducing high levels of driver confidence on any type of road that faces this new Jag.
Braking
The 60-0 mph times are decent, with a 123 ft stop from 60 mph, which is somewhat better than the 5-series' 124 ft but falls short of the A6's 109 feet. Given that the Audi weighs far more than the XF and still manages to have a lower stopping distance, the stats should have been better.
