If you want a taste of the Kia Stinger without spending as much, the Kia Forte can be a sensible option. Coming in hot with exciting new design changes, the Forte is ready to strum on your heartstrings at an affordable price. Even though you only get a 147-horsepower engine with a more powerful 201 horsepower engine at the top of the chain, you still won’t be disappointed with the performance. The Forte will be right up your lane if you want a sporty sedan with good looks and a well-equipped interior,

2022 Kia Forte Interior Design, Dimensions, and Comfort

One glance inside the Forte would be enough to impress you. The interior has a minimalist design but it is kept up-to-date with modern touches and styling cues. The design is ergonomic and all the controls are within an easy reach of the driver. Strong lines flow along with the dashboard and the more you pay for the higher trims, the better the quality of the materials gets. Speaking of which, the choice of materials is also quite decent for the price. Moreover, the car also comes stacked with some pretty commendable features as standard.

2022 Kia Forte Rear Seats

Both the base FE and LXS trims come with cloth seats and a combo of a urethane steering wheel and gear shifter with basic features such as manual air conditioning and a manual tilt and telescoping steering column. The GT-Line adds a mix of cloth and leatherette seat trim with white contrast stitching. It also upgrades to dual-zone automatic climate control and a leather gear shifter. On the dash, you will notice piano black and chrome inserts that accentuate the theme of the car.

Finally, the GT trim adds a sports leather steering wheel with SynTex seat trim. Also, the seats on the GT trim feature more bolstering to make sure that you stay in your seat during hard cornering.

The Forte features a 6-way manually adjustable driver’s and passenger’s seat. It stays the same throughout the lineup of the car while a 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat is optional from the GT-line, but the GT adds heated front sport seats as standard. Even though the seats are not too fancy, they are still pretty comfy, especially the sports seats in the GT. You don’t get many fancy features, but finding the perfect driving position is still easy.

The front row is very spacious with a lot of headroom and legroom. However, the rear row is where things start to get a bit tight. Yes, you could fit average-sized adults, but taller adults would experience slight discomfort being seated at the back, especially for longer journeys. However, two people at the back would be comfortable.

Second Row (Head/Shoulder/Leg) (in)

The Forte and the Corolla are the ones with the least amount of space at the back. On the other hand, both the Elantra and the Civic offer a pretty spacious and roomy second row. As expected, the front row is adequately spacious in all of the cars.

2022 Kia Forte Infotainment

Even the base trim of the 2022 Kia Forte comes with an 8” touchscreen infotainment system. But if you upgrade to the GT-Line or the GT, you will be presented with a bigger 10.3” touchscreen. The system is pretty slick to use, considering the price and features crisp graphics and an intuitive layout. All the trims also feature a 4.2” digital driver’s display as standard.

The list of standard features includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, USB ports, and all the other basic features, such as auxiliary input jack, radio data system, etc. The higher trims also add steering-mounted controls, built-in navigation, SiriusXM radio, and more. You can also get a wireless charging pad as an optional extra.

The lower trims come with a basic 4-speaker sound system, but the higher trims come with a 6-speaker UVO Link audio system. The top-of-the-line GT Manual trim adds an 8-speaker Harman/Kardon audio system for a better experience.

2022 Kia Forte Cargo Capacity

The new Forte features plenty of cargo capacity, especially when compared with its closest rivals. In its trunk, you will find 15.3 cubic feet of space to store your stuff which should be enough for daily chores like groceries or even a weekend trip.

Moreover, the rear seats can be folded in a 60/40-split, so if you need more space, just put the seats down. That should give you enough room to carry longer and larger items.

Trunk Capacity (cubic feet)

The Forte offers the most cargo capacity on paper. However, both the Civic and Elantra also offer nearly as much cargo space as the Forte. The Corolla, on the other hand, offers the least cargo capacity of all. Regardless, all the cars here are quite practical and come with adequate trunk space.

Additional Interior Storage Spaces

Since the Forte is a budget sedan, it features all the usual storage spaces that you'll find across the segment. Inside, you will find, door bins on all fours, seatback pockets, a pair of cupholders for both the front and rear row, and also a sizable glovebox. Other than that, you get a central storage bin and also a storage tray on the center console for your smart devices.

2022 Kia Forte Creature Comforts

The 2022 Forte includes a bunch of new and exciting features, especially driver assistance features. It now includes a new and bigger touchscreen, lane following assist system, adaptive cruise control that makes use of navigation data to adjust speed based on the speed limits. Other than that, you also get a new electronic parking brake with auto hold, remote keyless entry, leatherette seat trim, remote engine start, auto-leveling auto high-beam headlamps, dual-zone climate control, optional heated and ventilated seats with power adjustability, and more.

We would be remiss if we didn’t compliment the interior of the 2022 Kia Forte. Not only has Kia made the exterior more stylish, but they have also crafted an excellent interior that is filled with decent materials and tech, especially considering the price. It might not have the most spacious second row but otherwise, it is quite practical. Overall, Kia has nailed it with the new Forte and we would recommend checking it out.
