Sharing its underpinnings with the Ford Expedition, the 2022 Navigator is a three-row luxury SUV that is the pinnacle of Lincoln’s lineup of SUVs. The Navigator receives a mild refresh for the 2022 MY. It comes with a redesigned grille, new exterior lighting elements, new 13.2-inch touchscreen infotainment display with updated SYNC 4 software, and two new design themes- Central Park and Invitation theme. Moreover, you also get updated front row massaging seats and optional second-row massaging seats.

The Interior of the new 2022 Navigator gives a whole new meaning for luxury. What makes it different from the other rivals in the segment is acres of space, upscale materials and the long list of available features it has on offer. There are no missing features; right from the base trim, you get a 13.2-inch touchscreen display, heating, and ventilation for the second-row seats. These are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the features on offer in Lincoln; it only gets better and better as you move up the trim level. The main competitors of the 2022 Navigator include Jeep Grand Wagoneer, Cadillac Escalade, and BMW X7.

2022 Lincoln Navigator Interior Design, Dimensions, and Comfort

The interior of the 2022 Navigator is a class apart as it blends modern and classic design cues. The interior is adorned with open-pore wood, leather upholstery, and metal interior accents that give this simplistic cabin a dashing look. The standard list of features just like the Navigator is enormous. As standard, you get leather upholstery, power tailgate, tri-zone automatic climate control, heated and ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, power-adjustable front seats, second-row captain’s chairs, and the new 13.2-inch touchscreen infotainment display. Moreover, leather-wrapped steering wheel and real wood trim are standard across the range. The Reserve trim comes equipped with 24-way power-adjustable front seats, illuminated running boards, and ambient interior lighting. The top-level Black Label trim adds massaging function to the 30-way power-adjustable front seats along with Venetian leather upholstery, and head-up display.

2022 Lincoln Navigator Front Seats

Speaking of interior space and comfort, the big size of the Navigator means that there is no lack of space inside the cabin as well. It seats 7 people as standard but if you opt for the second-row bench seat, the seating capacity increases to 8 making it more practical. You get enough headroom and legroom in all three rows. Opting for the panoramic sunroof doesn’t eat into the head space either. The seats come wrapped in leather upholstery and come in two hues Ebony or Cappuccino as standard, Reserve trim adds Dark Slate and Ebony/Russet to the standard color choices. The Black Label trim gets Venetian Leather seats available in Alpine/Espresso, Blue Bay/Sand, and Mahogany Red hue choices.

The least spacious would be the German competitor BMW X7 which is also a lot smaller than the American rivals. While the Navigator and Escalade are pretty close in terms of interior space and features on offer, Jeep Grand Wagoneer gets more and more appeal.

Standard cargo space in the 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer is more than the others. However, when it comes to maximum cargo capacity Cadillac takes the crown with an exorbitant 121.0 cubic feet of cargo space offered behind the first row of seats. BMW X7 being the smallest in the lot offers the least space.

Additional Interior Storage Spaces

You get a lot of decent cubbies and small storage spaces spread all across the cabin. An overhead console with a sunglass holder is also available in the front row. The center console storage bin and the glove box are also quite large. Moreover, a total of 13 cupholders are present.
