Mazda CX-30 user complaints and problems
In spite of being a new kid on the block, the Mazda CX-30 managed to uphold the general reputation of the reliability aspect of the Japanese carmakers. The Mazda CX-30 issues were scattered for its 2020 model and its 2021 model also has a similar record as well. Some of the 2020 and the 2021 models of the CX-30 faced a few complaints regarding their advanced safety tech onboard while the latter saw a couple of reports regarding a manufacturing defect of the windshield.
Engine problems
- Hesitant acceleration: The 2020 Mazda CX-30 faced a single complaint that mentioned this issue. The report stated that while the owner slowed down to exit from a freeway, the vehicle hesitated to accelerate for a couple of seconds.
- Engine oil burning: This problem was recorded against a couple of 2021 Mazda CX-30 vehicles. The reports stated that due to the high consumption of engine oil by the engine, the oil levels would drop significantly way before the scheduled maintenance.
Safety problems
- Automatic emergency braking system malfunction: The NHTSA recorded a single complaint about the 2020 CX-30 and a couple of complaints about the 20201 CX-30 regarding this issue. The reports mentioned that while driving, the automatic emergency braking system intervened randomly and apply the brakes even if no vehicle or obstruction was detected at the front.
Miscellaneous problems
- Warped windshield: The 2021 Mazda CX-30 faced a couple of complaints about a manufacturing defect on its windshield. Officially, only a couple of complaints were recorded. The reports mentioned that a distorted or warped windshield would hamper the visibility while driving. In one report, the owner stated that the distorted windshield would result in rapid eye fatigue and headache. It was also reported that several unofficial forums also recorded a similar issue with several models of the CX-30.
2022 Mazda CX-30 recalls
Soon after its launch, the Mazda CX-30 faced more than a couple of recalls for multiple reasons. The reasons for the recalls include a possible fuel leak, front brake caliper bolts loosening, a faulty power-operated liftgate, and a possible tire leak. It was good to see that the automaker quickly assessed what might go wrong and put in efforts to fix them.
