"The GLC is very impressive for an SUV. It stays reasonably flat through turns and doesn't feel very tall or large. It's easy to drive a fast clip down a twisty road"- Edmunds

For a luxury compact SUV, having 241 hp of power and 273 lb.-ft. of torque is great. The coupe is backed by a 2.0L inline-4 turbocharged engine. Like the GLC 300, all three of its competitors feature a 2.0L engine.

Ride and Handling

There are two separate driving modes available with the 2018 GLC 300. There is a Normal mode and a Sport mode. The steering is responsive in the normal mode while the feel improves in the Sport mode, though some additional effort is required. Throughout turns, the ride stays firmly on the ground.

The engine stop-start system might act obtrusive at startup. Nonetheless, the adaptive cruise system assists in effectively controlling both, the gas and the brakes. Moreover, the 9-speed automatic transmission is way much smoother than other cars in the competition. All in all, the handling experience with the GLC 300 is even much better than expected.

7.6/10

"Mercedes’ GLC-Class for 2018 is bigger than it looks, and that’s a good thing. Rather than appearing ponderous or unwieldy, it looks substantial and solid.
