For the price at which the Mirage G4 is offered, the feature list is remarkable. In its highest trim, it gets all the bells and whistles necessary for convenience while pottering around town. While there may not be much excitement on offer, the safety features and additional upgrades the SE trim receives are high value for money, so we recommend you to pick the Mirage G4 SE with a factory package of your choice. 

Under the hood, the teeny-tiny 1.2L MPI 3 cylinder engine is expected to be carried forward to the 2022 Mitsubishi Mirage G4 without any upgrades. The last performance upgrade brought a power boost of a mere 4hp. The 78hp engine manages to revs up to 6,000 RPM and delivers a 74lb-ft of torque output.

The base ES trim gets a standard 5-speed manual transmission and an optional 2-Speed CVT. The CVT transmission is standard across all trims apart from the base trim. Yet the power to weight ratio isn't as bad as the acceleration because the Mirage G4 weighs just 2,117 lbs. Also, the engine is backed by an amazing 10-year powertrain warranty.

The 78hp motor applies all of its force to reach 60 MPH in 12.7 seconds. Also, the highway behavior of the engine isn't the best as it gets loud when you push its limits. How does the 2022 Mitsubishi Mirage G4 handle?

The suspension updates in the 2021 Mirage G4 enhanced the comfort level up to an extent, but the ride quality is stiffer than expected. With the electronic power steering, the Mirage G4 handles like a charm. A 15.8-inch turning radius is what makes it the most fun to drive sedan even in traffic. 

Moreover, you have a front independent and rear torsion beam suspension that balances the weight evenly. The lowest in the segment curb weight is another reason for its nimble handling. Just like its hatch version, the drag coefficient is considerably lower as compared to the rivals.

With the same 1.2L 78hp I3 engine under the hood, the 2022 Mirage G4 is expected to take its extraordinary fuel economy further. The base trim with its 5-Speed manual transmission offers 33 MPG in the city, 40 MPG on the highway, and 35 MPG combined. As we switch to the 2-Speed CVT transmission, the fuel economy gets better. You get 35 MPG in the city, 41 MPG on the highway, and upto 37 MPG combined. This makes the Mirage G4 the most fuel-efficient sedan in the segment. 

In terms of fuel economy, theKia Rio is the most efficient offering 36MPG combined, but when Mirage G4 is equipped with the CVT, all odds turn into Mitsubishi’s favor. However, with a small fuel tank, the Mirage G4 couldn't offer the best in class range as the rivals have better fuel capacity. 

The 2021 Mitsubishi Mirage G4 is a mildly equipped car with a simple interior design. It will mostly remain the same with the 2022 MY as well. The cabin is finished with hard plastic that looks pretty nice in all the available dark color options. To get the premium looks, you can avail yourself of the piano black interior with chrome and metal-look accents. Keeping alive the straightforward Mitsubishi ergonomics, the cabin is minimal, and you get immense space inside the cabin. However, the center console looks busy with the AC vents, a touchscreen display, and HVAC. 

The Mirage G4 lacks the comfort that the other cars in its segment offer. The cloth upholstery wraps the front and rear seats. For the front bucket seats, you have a 6-way driver and 4-way passenger adjustments. Moreover, there are front and rear armrests with storage. From the LE trim onwards, you get heated seatbacks and premium cloth upholstery. The standard convenience features include automatic air-conditioning, one-touchdown power windows, and steering-mounted cruise controls. That’s all. Even the top trim doesn't offer anything different than the base trim itself. 

With similar seating capacity and passenger volume, all the subcompact sedans in the above table are pretty much the same. However, you may get better cabin materials with the rivals. With a good enough seating space at the front, the Mirage G4 has the best in class rear-seat legroom. Both the rows offer decent headroom, but the seats aren't wide enough. 

The short length of the Mirage G4 allows it to have limited trunk space. You have 12.4 cubic feet of cargo room, while the rivals have much bigger trunks. However, the available space is big enough for your touring luggage. Not getting the foldable rear seat is such a shame and a disappointment. 2022 Mitsubishi Mirage G4: Infotainment and Connectivity

Mitsubishi brings the latest Smartphone Link Display Audio System inside the new Mirage G4. It is a huge 7.0-inch infotainment touchscreen display. Now you get standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity with the infotainment. A single 12V DC outlet is standard where you get an optional USB port.

There's an AM/FM radio as well to keep you posted and entertained at the same time. The LE trim adds an in-dash CD player to the package. With 4 standard speakers for your music, you can get the optional 4 Rockford Fosgate speakers with a 300W amplifier. Highlighted infotainment features include:

Being the lightest car in the US market, the Mirage G4 is a hatchback turned sedan. In terms of length and width, it suits the subcompact sedan segment pretty well. With a hatchback-like stance, you have a massive ground clearance too. The lightweight structure sits on a 100.4-inch wheelbase, which is the smallest in the segment. The size falls short against the bigger cars such as the Versa. Standout exterior features include:
