The M sport package enhances the sport look of the 2022 BMW 2 Series with the addition of shadowline exterior trim and exterior Chrome design elements. Front-end carbon fiber components include the grille trim and the front spoiler. Those carbon fiber pieces extend down the sides of the car, creating little winglets just ahead of the rear wheels. There is also a rear spoiler and mock diffuser included in the options list. Carbon composite M3-style mirrors are also available for the 2 Series.
Inside the 2 Series, BMW will offer a sporty steering wheel with Alcantara trim. You can also get the carbon fiber paddle shifters and bolstered sport seats with M badging. BMW hasn’t officially included the M Performance Parts for the 2022 2 Series Coupe, but we will probably see the 2 Series taking the same direction as the 3 Series and 4 Series Coupe, which offer these parts.
The 2022 BMW 2 Series is offered in three different configurations, the 230i (core model) and M 240i xDrive. The core model, 230i, comes with a 2.0-liter BMW TwinPower Turbo inline 4-cylinder which produces 255 hp. The M240i xDrive Coupe comes with a 3.0-liter BMW TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder with an all-wheel drive system.
The 2022 BMW 2 Series does not feature an M2 Competition trim yet. We will have to wait and see if BMW updates the 2021 BMW M2 Competition. It featured an3.0-liter M TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder delivering 405 horsepower and redlines at 7,600 rpm. The 2021 M2 could get from 0-60 mph in just 4.2 seconds.
We will have to wait for an official confirmation from BMW. The BMW M Performance Parts enhance the looks and feel of the 2 Series, making it more aggressive and sporty. We don’t have a confirmation on the price of the optional parts and we will have to wait for BMW to make it official to know more details.
