BMW continues to deliver on the promise to provide engaging and innovative electromobility solutions with the latest addition to the fully-electric BMW i4 range, the new BMW i4 eDrive35. It comes with a single electric motor that produces 281hp and 295 lb-ft of torque with an EPA estimated range of 260 miles. This car is priced at $51,400 and the U.S. delivers are expected to start from the first quarter of 2023.

BMW grows the i4 portfolio with the introduction of the i4 eDrive35. The BMW i4 eDrive35 joins the successful BMW i4 eDrive40 and BMW i4 M50 and makes purely electric BMW performance more attainable than ever. It comes with a single electric motor that produces 281hp and 295 lb-ft of torque with an EPA estimated range of 260 miles. Recently, BMW and Electrify America have collaborated to provide BMW customers with 30-minutes of free charging for 2 years. It is also noted that in the first half of 2022, BMW sold over 57,000 fully electric vehicles worldwide. 

The BMW i4 eDrive35 is powered by a 70.2 kWh single electric motor which produces 281 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. The BMW i4 eDrive35 is driven by the same Gen5 eDrive powertrain technology found in the BMW iX and the other i4 models. The power from the engine is used to power the rear wheels and this car manages a 0-60 mph run in 5.8 seconds. The EPA estimated electric-only range of this car is 260 miles. By utilizing DC fast charging, the batteries can be charged at a rate of up to 180 kW, and based on early testing, owners can expect to be able to charge the HV battery from 10% to 80% in only 32 minutes.

The interior features of the BMW i4 eDrive35 include BMW Curved Display, powered by BMW Operating System 8. The display unites a 12.3-inch information display with a 14.9-inch control display behind a single, seamless glass surface angled towards the driver. This car also gets a 3-spoke leather-wrapped sports steering, an Anthracite headliner, Perforated Sensatec seats, and Black High Gloss trim.

The connectivity features of the BMW i4 eDrive 35 include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Compatibility, and an available Connected Package Professional which features Real-Time Traffic Information and On-Street Parking Information, Hazard Preview, BMW Remote Services including Stolen Vehicle Recovery, Remote Door Unlock, and My BMW App. The Intelligent Personal Assistant voice control offers natural speech input for various functions, including navigation. 

In terms of comfort and convenience, this car gets Power front sport seats, Multi-zone Climate Control including micro-filter and automatic air recirculation, a Storage compartment package, 2-way power glass moonroof with "one-touch" operation, and a sliding interior sunshade. It also gets an automatic-dimming interior rear-view mirror and driver's-side exterior mirror, 40/20/40 split fold-down through-load rear seats, and rain-sensing windshield wipers with automatic headlight control. 

The safety features offered by this car include Active Driving Assistant5 includes Frontal Collision Warning, Automatic City Collision Mitigation and Braking, Active Blind Spot Detection, Lane Departure Warning, and Speed Limit Info. It also gets BMW Assist eCall includes Emergency Request (SOS button) and Enhanced Automatic Collision Notification, Anti-theft alarm system, Programmable LED Daytime Running Lights, Rear-view Camera, Mobility kit, Park Distance Control, front and rear, and Acoustic pedestrian protection. 

The Standard and optional features and equipment are unchanged from that available on the 2023 i4 eDrive40, and the i4 eDrive35 will benefit from the full range of available ConnectedDrive digital services and over-the-air updates. Production of the 2023 BMW i4 eDrive35 will begin in the fourth quarter of 2022 at BMW Group Plant Munich. The first units are expected to arrive in the US in the first quarter of 2023 and will be priced at $51,400. The BMW Group is aiming for BEVs to account for fully 50% of global sales by 2030. The major rivals of the BMW i4 are Tesla model 3, Polestar 2, and Kia EV6
