The 2022 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing is the successor to the Cadillac ATS-V sedan. It underwent a wind tunnel testing at the GM Techincal center, where it recorded the most downforce on a Cadillac V model. The CT4-V Blackwing also comes with aerodynamic enhancements for better performance, more control, and upgraded sports suspension. The CT4-V Blackwing is available at an MSRP of $58,995.

The 2022 Cadillac CT4 is the smallest sedan in the Cadillac lineup, that comes with one of the most balanced weight distributions and offers luxury with nimble handling and performance. The 2022 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing is the performance-oriented version of the CT4 and is the more powerful successor to the performance-focused 2019 Cadillac ATS-V. The Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing is completely new for 2022 and goes up against the BMW M3, Audi RS 5 Sportback, Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio, and the Mercedes-AMG C 63.

Over the sporty CT4-V, the Blackwing edition adds an upgraded chassis, a twin-turbo engine, sport suspension, more powerful brakes, and aerodynamic exterior enhancements. The CT4-V Blackwing starts at a price of $58,995 and is available in a single trim. As standard, it comes with a twin-turbo 3.6L V6 engine that outputs 472 hp and 445 lb-ft of torque. Transmission duties are taken care of by a 6-speed manual transmission or a 10-speed automatic transmission, with RWD as standard.

The Blackwing model also gets a high-performance braking system with an enhanced electronic limited-slip rear differential. On the Blackwing, the suspension comes standard with magnetic ride control as standard. For the Blackwing trim, two carbon fiber packages are available as well. These packages took inspiration from the championship-winning Cadillac Racing DPi-V.R race car. The first package ($4,350) includes front dive planes, underwing strakes, extra-aero front splitter and rear spoiler, and front-wheel deflectors.

The carbon fiber 2 package ($2,650) includes all of the above and adds a rear valance diffuser and rocker extensions. The CT4-V Blackwing has a top speed of 189 MPH, and this performance was achieved with optimum aerodynamic performance. The car was tested in the five-belt rolling wind tunnel at GM technical center in Michigan, with more than 500 hours of testing and 300 simulations that helped achieve the maximum downforce seen on a Caddy. The five-belt system creates a more accurate simulation of the underbody airflow on any car, thus providing more time to modify the aero parts on the vehicle for better performance.

The benefits of the various aerodynamic components on the CT4 altogether help with immense control and stability. At the front, the underwing creates a low-pressure zone for better balance by controlling the airflow, and the dive planes increase grip on the front tires. The front fender vents and the front splitter release built-up pressure from the front wheels to reduce lift and drag.

The special Blackwing mesh grille comes with a special design to control and direct air to optimize airflow. Along the side, the brake cooling ducts help with better brake efficiency by directing air towards the front control arm. The flat underbody also allows for a more seamless airflow. At the rear, the integrated rear spoiler adds more stability, and its curved design adds more downforce. It also comes with a 3mm flap that aids in creating even more downforce. All this makes the 2022 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing the most track-capable small luxury sedan from Cadillac.
