The Nissan Altima is a mid-size sedan that slots between the smaller Sentra and the larger Maxima. It was introduced in 1992 as the replacement for the Bluebird and has been doing well ever since its launch. For 2022 MY, the Altima comes with a starting price of $24,500 and five trim levels.
2022 Nissan Altima Dashboard
This year, Nissan has introduced a new Midnight Edition Package which is available for the SR, and the Premium Package now offers heated side mirrors with LED turn indicators. The midsize sedan segment is a competitive one and hence, the 2022 Nissan Altima has a lot of heat. It rivals the likes of the Honda Accord, Hyundai Sonata, and Toyota Camry.

The 2022 Hyundai Sonata offers the most spacious cabin in the lot. It also gets the segment best front row seating space with nearly 46 inches of legroom. But then it affected the rear row seating space. It is the same case with Altima as well. 2022 Accord offers a more balanced cabin space with plenty of legroom in both rows. But the roof is pretty low slung and it eats into the headroom. Speaking of design, the 2022 Sonata and Camry have slightly better interior layout than the Altima. But still the Zero Gravity seats on offer in the Nissan are still unmatched in terms of comfort.
2022 Nissan Altima Infotainment
The 2022 Altima S, being the base, comes equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen display powered by the NissanConnect infotainment system. Honda Accord and Hyundai Sonata offer slightly better cabin and cargo space as compared to the Altima. The Nissan Altima’s cargo trunk is smaller than the latter, but its cargo floor is the lowest. However, the rear row seats don't fold completely flat and this does take up some cargo space.
Additional Interior Storage Spaces
The front row of the 2022 Altima offers a small cubby for storing mobile phones and other small items. Moreover, you also get a pair of cup holders, some storage space inside the central armrest, and a lockable glove box. At the rear, you get a pair of cup holders and seat back map pockets.
2022 Nissan Altima Creature Comforts

Verdict
The interior of the 2022 Nissan Altima is magnificent, spacious, and constructed with high-quality materials. And speaking of magnificence, the Zero-Gravity seats are what Nissan is known for. The front seats offer excellent comfort during longer rides thanks to enough padding and bolstering. Moreover, you get a decent infotainment system to keep you entertained. The cargo trunk isn’t the best in the segment, but it will do for most use cases. Overall, the interior of the 2022 Altima has both a utilitarian and sophisticated side. Moreover, we recommend you buy the SV trim and don’t forget to equip it with the Premium Package.
