The Murano looks quirky, offers comfort and premium features, all in a package for a pocket-friendly price. The 2022 Nissan Murano is carried forward without any major changes compared to the previous MY. The only significant changes you can find in 2022 MY is the addition of heated front seats along with faux leather upholstery in SV trim and available Midnight Edition package.
2022 Nissan Murano Dashboard
The Nissan Murano is not as enthusiastic as its rivals but it offers a comfortable ride. However, it doesn’t offer the best cargo space; rivals offer much better space. The 2022 Murano is available in four trim options with its prices starting from $34,150. It competes with the likes of 2022 Ford Edge, 2022 Chevrolet Blazer, and 2022 Honda Passport.
2022 Nissan Murano Interior Design, Dimensions, and Comfort
The 2022 Nissan Murano might have a quirky design on the outside, but it seems to be subtle within. The cabin isn’t edgy and bold, but it is rather welcoming. Although the interior features in lower trim levels like the S and SL might come across as crude, the Platinum trim, as well as the Midnight Edition, offer some intriguing touches to the cabin which certainly add value and appeal. The dashboard looks quite subtle yet modern thanks to its dual-tone color layout. The Murano comes with a combination of beige and black colored design elements with the only exception being the Midnight Edition which offers an all-black look. While the lower trims get metal trim inserts between the two sections of the dashboard, the higher Platinum trim gets some dark teak wood trim accents that elevate the appeal for sure. You can also get a heated steering wheel in SL trim. Apart from that, you also get dual-zone automatic climate control and a dual sunroof setup.
2022 Nissan Murano Front Seats
Coming to the seats, the front seats are manually adjustable seats wrapped in cloth upholstery in the lower trim options while the higher trims get 8-way power-adjustable seats with optional heating and ventilation function. The SV offers synthetic leather upholstery but you can also get genuine leather upholstery in SL trim and semi-aniline leather seats with diamond-quilted inserts in Platinum trim. Nissan Zero Gravity seats are some of the most comfortable ones in the segment and there is ample legroom in the front row. The second-row seats are 60-40 split-bench seats that can fold flat to make space for more cargo.

The 2022 Honda Passport and the 2022 Ford Edge are quite possibly the most spacious SUVs in the segment. They also have a refined ride quality with quite a lot of features on offer as well. The Chevy Blazer too seems excellent than the Nissan Murano when it comes to interior space and comfort. The only drawback when it comes to the Murano is the amount of space it offers in the second row which seems to be lower than most of its rivals have on offer.
2022 Nissan Murano Infotainment

2022 Nissan Murano Cargo Capacity
The compact size of the 2022 Murano translates down to the cargo space as well. It offers a standard cargo capacity of 32.1 cu-ft. and an extended cargo capacity of 67 cu-ft. of space after folding the rear seats. These figures do seem far less than what some of its rivals have on offer.

The cargo opening is wide enough and you also get Motion-Activated hands free power liftgate which helps you open the trunk just by waving your leg below the rear bumper.

The 2022 Honda Passport offers the highest cargo capacity in the segment at 41.2 cu ft. It can be increased to 77.7 cu ft by folding down the rear seats. But that’s not it. If you take into consideration all the corner spaces and concealed floor storage, it has a maximum cargo capacity of just over the 100 cu-ft. mark. The 2022 Chevrolet Blazer seems to be the only SUV in the segment which offers less cargo space than the Murano does.
Additional Interior Storage Spaces
Speaking of small storage spaces inside the 2022 Murano, you can easily locate the illuminated glove box on the dashboard as well as a pair of cupholders on the center console. There is a small storage bin in front of the cupholders as well as underneath the individual armrests on the center console. The door bins on all four doors are decently sized and you also get a pair of cupholders located on the second-row armrest and a pair of seatback pockets behind the front row seats.
2022 Nissan Murano Creature Comforts
If you are expecting some reasonable creature comforts inside the 2022 Murano, the Platinum trim might be the one to go for as the lower trims are pretty crude and only offer the basics. The base S trim comes equipped with manually adjustable seats, cloth upholstery and dual-zone automatic climate control. Even remote start comes as an option. The SV trim adds synthetic leather upholstery, power-adjustable and heated front seats and remote start.
From the SL trim onwards things get pretty comfortable; you get genuine leather upholstery, heated rear outboard seats, heated steering wheel, hands-free liftgate as standard while dual pane panoramic moonroof can be availed via options. The Moonroof is standard on Platinum trim. Apart from that, the top end trim also offers features like semi-aniline leather seats with diamond-quilted inserts, ventilated front seats, and power-adjustable steering wheel.
Verdict
If interior space is a top priority for you, then the 2022 Nissan Murano might not be an ideal SUV for you as most of its counterparts offer more space. The 2022 Murano is all about comfort and refinement with a hint of premium features and impressive creature comforts. While the base S and SV trims seem to be pretty basic, things get better from SL trim. 2022 Murano surely proves to be worth its price tag as far as the quality and refinement are concerned.
