When we talk of a Sports Car, the first name that comes to mind is Porsche. Well, it’s our resort when we like a sports car sitting in our garage. It knows the gap between a city car and a sports car, and that’s what we all have been adoring about the manufacturer. Porsche certainly knows that when it comes to performance, there’s no compromise allowed. So, if you’re someone who needs a practical 4-door performance-sedan sedan displaying a decent boot at the rear and an outright performance for your adventures during the weekends, then your player is right here in the form of the 2022 Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Sport Turismo.

Expert Review, Pricing Analysis and Buying Guide

It comes in a wagon body style with all the grace and performance of the Panamera sedan along with added comfort and space. The Sport Turismo is a level up of the Panamera. It’s now even more on the point with its elongated roofline. The car has been honored with a place in the list of the topmost sports wagons on Sale in the United States. It’s in fact at the top. But when it comes to upgrading, there’s not much that Panamera has to offer in its 2022 version. But you might be able to see an all-electric Panamera soon. The 2022 Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Sport Turismo competes with the Volvo V60 Recharge T8, Mercedes-Benz E 450 4-Matic All-Terrain Wagon, and the Audi RS6 Avant

We Recommend

The 2022 Porsche Panamera 4-E Hybrid is a standalone trim that is succeeded by the Panamera 4S E-hybrid Sport Turismo and the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Hybrid. The 4-E hybrid is actually the most sensible option in the whole Panamera lineup as it is the starting model in the PHEV Cross Turismo lineup. Still, it comes with more than enough power from the powertrain combination while also delivering good economy figures and the added practicality and escape of the Cross-Turismo body style.

2022 Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Sport Turismo Wagon Engine and Performance

An E-Hybrid like the Turismo is a sporty crossover that comes power-packed, and this is something each of us knows. So, let’s cut it short and reveal the numbers. The 4 E-Hybrid Sport Turismo comes packed with a 2.9L twin-turbocharged V6 engine which generates around 325 horses and 331 lb-ft of torque. The added electric motor helps the crossover get an additional 134 horses and 295 lb-ft. The Cross Turismo, to be precise, then throws an output of about 455 horses and 516 lb-ft. Along with this, you get an all-wheel drivetrain setup and a quick-shifting 8-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung or PDK dual-clutch automatic transmission, which is apparently among the best you could get.

The 2022 Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Cross Turismo reaches 60 MPH within 4.2 seconds, and we have the Sports Chrono package to thank for that. With this model, the top speed that you get is more than 170mph. If you’re still not sure about the hybrid technology, you can understand that the gas-only Turbo model isn’t the fastest Panamera anymore. The E-Hybrid Sport Turismo brings forth a performance as good as it could get for a full-sized luxury car on the plate. Enough said!

In the race amongst these powerful plug-in hybrids and the traditional gas-powered RS6, the 2022 Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Sport Turismo performs with quite decent numbers. The RS6 Avant is the fastest, highest-powered machine in the competition, but if we consider the more powerful, more expensive non-hybrid version of the E-Class wagon, the AMG E 63 S Wagon, it is priced just a bit more than the Porsche and Audi and is superior to the duo in terms of power as well as speed. When the pricing is taken into consideration the Volv0 V60 is the absolute best performer in this comparison.

How does the 2022 Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Sport Turismo handle?

The 2022 Porsche Sport Turismo comes with an adaptive air suspension as a standard, and it helps in smoothing out the surface issues or bumps that come along the way. The suspension is so amazing that you don’t feel any bumps inside but you keep feeling like you’re on the road owing to the little noises that keep bumping into you. Mechanically, the car is stellar with its ability to transfuse into electric power from gas. The Sports Turismo gives you a great grip on the steering wheel and exhibits preciseness. The car’s weight provides it with the agility that it requires.

You can also equip the E-Hybrid with the rear-axle steering that allows the Porsche to be more maneuverable even when you’re driving at a slower speed and also helps in high-speed cornering. The brakes are good, and the ceramic composite stoppers have ten-piston calipers at the front and 4-piston calipers at the rear. You’ll have it easy to control the Sport Turismo, it delivers super-impressive handling and driving dynamics.

2022 Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Sport Turismo Wagon Fuel Economy

Delivering slightly below the Turbo S E-Hybrid, the Panamera might feel a little lacking when compared but brings forth good enough tractability. Porsche hasn’t yet announced the MPG figures of the Sport Turismo yet, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed for something better. The E-Hybrid moniker assists in the performance and also leads in terms of fuel efficiency. The Porsche is expected to deliver a combined mileage of 20 mpg resulting in an estimated combined range of 422 miles.

The above-mentioned data has been extracted from the ongoing model since EPA has not confirmed the MPG scores for the 2022 Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Sport Turismo. As no major changes have been done with its powertrain, it is very unlikely that we see any modification with Panamera 4 E-Hybrid overall fuel economy. The Volvo is the most efficient among this vehicle while the only non-hybrid which is the RS6 as expected provides the least efficient mpg figures and range.

2022 Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Sport Turismo Wagon Interior

The Panamera Sport Turismo will indefinitely remind you of the Panamera. There are two big touch screens that dominate the dashboard, both of them are pointed at the driver. With the Panamera Turismo, you get reflective gloss black panels that need a lot of care and maintenance but look great on the outside. There is a truckload of customization options available with the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Sport Turismo. The design of the interiors of the Panamera Turismo has been changed slightly only to provide more headroom to the passengers.

The design must have gotten a bit weird but the changes made to the design of the central display screen and the steering wheel certainly make up for it. The seats in the car are 8-way adjustable as standard whereas it can be upgraded to sports seats with bolstering with 18-way adjustability and different leather options. Also, dual-zone climate control is standard while it can be upgraded to a 4-zone climate control system. The highlighted interior features are all optional and available features and the price rises up accordingly.

The Sport Turismo has a gloss black finish, Alcantara inserts with contrasting stitching, brushed-up aluminum inserts, and so much more enhancing the interiors of the car. The interiors are sure plush and up-to-the-mark as the interiors of Porsche should be. Undoubtedly the Porsche is the most luxurious among the competition, but adding more luxury into the car would seriously increase the price.

  • Optional Four-zone automatic climate control
  • Multifunction steering wheel with shift-paddles with a rim in smooth-finish leather
  • Available 18-way adaptive sport seats

2022 Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Sport Turismo: Infotainment and Connectivity

The 2022 Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Sport Turismo comes with an infotainment system that is led by the Porsche Communication Management system. It comes with a 12.3-inch touch screen display, which looks gradient and displays great clarity. It’s also highly responsive but the handling part is a bit difficult. It feels like you’re using the Mercedes MBUX system or BMW’s iDrive. The car comes packed with Apple CarPlay integration, Android Auto integration, and a lot more.

There’s also Bluetooth integration, navigation facility, wireless internet access, an auxiliary input, voice controls, SiriusXM satellite radio, HD radio, and others. SiriusXM is only available with a 3-month trial subscription. With the base model, you get a 10-speaker audio system outputting 150 watts but a lot of options make it a better experience. Some of these options include a 21-speaker Burmester high-end 3D surround sound system, a rear USB interface, a rear-seat entertainment system with two 10-inch touchscreens, and more. Some of the standout infotainment features of the car are as follows:

  • Porsche Communication Management (PCM) infotainment system
  • Apple CarPlay with wireless usability
  • 12.3-inch touch screen display
  • Hi-fi sound system with 10 speakers
  • Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
  • Available 21-speaker Burmester high-end 3D surround sound system

2022 Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Sport Turismo Wagon Exterior

The initial Panamera looked great, but the contemporary model looks even better than the first generation. A decade ago, they sure didn’t have as many structural edits as they have now. The Sport Turismo is even more stylish, especially the B-pillar and rear. The base model comes with Acid Green brake calipers on the front and the rear, 19-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, an adaptive rear spoiler, a panoramic roof, and twin single-tube tailpipes. There are also 25 different alloy wheel options available (yes you heard it right), in sizes ranging from 19 to 21-inches.

In fact, with all these features added, the Panamera Sport Turismo is amongst some of the great-looking wagons in the US. With the Volvo, you may get some sort of decency but you don’t get what Porsche offers you; a hint of luxury. The Panamera 4 E-Hybrid is available with a plethora of customization options and the same is the case with the exterior also. There are numerous color options on offers while a custom color can also be chosen.

The Volvo is the lightest among the competition while also being the shortest. The Audi has the lowest ride height whereas the Panamera has a respectable ground clearance. When it comes to looks, the Panamera and the RS6 are the most beautiful looking whereas the RS6 is definitely the most aggressive and angry-looking one.

2022 Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Sport Turismo Wagon Final Verdict

In our opinion, the 2022 Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Sport Turismo is a great grab with its amazing performance figures, interior decors, and stellar exteriors. But the car is often foreshadowed by Mercedes’ 4S E-Hybrid Turbo Model. Porsche is by itself quite reliable; it has been leading in the auto-world and so it’s easier for you to trust it. However, the numbers are not yet confirmed so we can build our assumptions and wait for the real numbers out there. Until then, we can keep our fingers crossed for more info on the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid.
