The Japanese manufacturer has made some really good cars over time and this is one of their really good offerings and this is one of them. It is not terrible in terms of performance, but is really a car that has a great interior and lots of features. The exterior is not too fancy or bling but it is not too dated or gaudy to look at either.

The four different trims offered of the Camry have specific features and customization as per your needs. However, the SE trim comes above the base and offers a level above the practical choice, or if you're fond of getting the most out of your Car and do not mind the extra price. You may also opt for the more pricey XLE trim with the powerful V6 engine, but the upscale leather filled interiors that are worth the price.

We Recommend

This answer is most of the time easy for us but in this case choosing a model is getting difficult thanks to the difference in the models and we might go with two models in this case we would pick the XSE trim to satisfy our need for the car to look sporty and the XLE trim for the complete comfort. However, there is a catch where we pay a bit more and get both of these in one model by opting for a V6 engine and the car gets both sporty and comfy.

2014 Toyota Camry Engine and Performance

9.0/10

Like every other mid-size car in the segment, the standard versions of the Toyota Camry comes with a regular 2.5L Inline-4 engine that produces 178 hp and 170 lb-ft torque. The Camry's engine comes with two choices, either the standard inline-4 or a 3.5L V6. The optional 3.5L V6 engine is more powerful, producing 268 hp at 248 lb-ft torque. An upgrade to the V6 will cost you about $5,000 more.

The 2014 Camry is more of a mid-sized sedan known for its luxurious and comfortable ride, it has good acceleration to keep up with the competition. The steering of the Camry is an absolute delight. No stone has been left unturned to ensure the luxury of its upscale interiors, which aid on to its top-of-the-class driving experience.

All the sedans are offered with very similar engine configurations, with the Malibu being the only turbocharged option available. The turbocharging helps to peak the torque earlier than usual but the power generated isn’t enough and the rivals offer better power figures. As for the acceleration, the Honda Accord takes the lead due to the most powerful engine and a CVT to make things easy.

2014 Toyota Camry Fuel Economy

6.0/10

The Toyota Camry offers impressive fuel economy with its base engine, the EPA ratings for which stand at 24 MPG in the city and 33 MPG on the highway, for a combined 26 MPG from its 17-gallon fuel tank. Consequently, the more powerful 3.5L V6 engine drops the economy to 21 MPG in the city, 30 MPG on the highway and 24 MPG combined.

The Malibu this time, returning 36 mpg on the highway and 27mpg in the city. This is the best mileage among the competition. The Camry unfortunately performs below average than its rivals. Taking note of the figures provided,it is easy to jump from the Camry to the other available and more efficient options. But this can be reconsidered as the luxuries offered on the camry is huge and is really comfortable when driving as well. The base LE trim will make a great pick, however, the upgraded 3.5 L V6 engine is sure to add the extra horsepower you'd want on a Highway, in the best fuel economy.

2014 Toyota Camry Interior
