Detailed Review

The Corolla iM is the hatchback version of the regular Corolla sedan, but with better-tuned suspension and raised rear seats. The Corolla gets a 1.8L DOHC engine which produces about 137hp of power. The 2018 Corolla iM starts at $18,850 and has a host of standard features on offer.

The Corolla iM offers a sharp somewhat lively handling thanks to stiffer suspension setup and independent rear suspension. However, the pesky engine just lacks the grunt to use the handling capability. If you need more fun, go for the Focus. Want practicality? Consider the Honda Fit.

2018 Toyota Corolla iM Engine

8.0/10

"The Corolla iM is not fast. It features a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that has ample power for driving to and from work but delivers sluggish acceleration when you’re pulling away from a stoplight or merging onto the highway. It’s also loud, especially at higher rpms. A six-speed manual transmission is standard, and a continuously variable automatic transmission is available."-Cars.USnews

The Corolla gets a 1.8L DOHC engine generating 137 hp of power and 126 lb-ft of torque driving the front wheels through 6-speed Manual transmission. A CVT automatic is also available. The car with the biggest engine in the segment is the ford focus with its 160 hp 2.0L engine.
