Expert Review, Pricing Analysis and Buying Guide

Overall Rating

The Volvo V60 Recharge is a plug-in hybrid wagon that is better than the fully electric by itself. There aren't likely to be many changes to this hybrid wagon, which will largely be a carryover model for 2022. This hybrid has a pure T8 engine with an electric engine powering the front wheels and a mechanical transmission. The torque steering system maps steering effort to current driving conditions. It goes against the likes of Mercedes-Benz E-Class Wagon and Audi A4 Allroad.

We expect the 2022 Volvo V60 Recharge is expected to be released by the end of this year and available for pre-order in early 2022.

2022 Volvo V60 Recharge Wagon Engine and Performance

If you need a car to take care of business and still be elegant and environmentally friendly, consider the 2022 Volvo V60 Recharge. With its versatile powertrain, composed handling, and smooth acceleration, this hatchback lets you easily get from point A to point B in style. Like its predecessor, the 2022 Volvo V60 Recharge wagon will also feature two distinctive and futuristic hybrid powertrains.

First, there is the T6 platform which features a 2.0-liter supercharged and turbocharged petrol engine with 299 horsepower sent to the front wheels, while a second 86 horsepower can be used for the rear axle, providing all-wheel drive for the V60. This configuration means that the vehicle can run on either the all-electric range or on a combination of both turbo and base batteries, whichever is most efficient for the situation. The most important aspect is that it can travel about 30 miles using only electricity.

It is fitted with an eight-speed automatic transmission and has an AWD drivetrain standard. The T8 powertrain, on the other hand, has a 0-60 time of 4.9 seconds. Although the suspension system on the V60 is somewhat stiff, its ride is comfortable. However, the steering feels a little unresponsive. There are several driving modes that can alter throttle and steering response, but the steering still doesn't feel very responsive.

2022 Volvo V60 Recharge Wagon Competition

2022 Volvo V60 Recharge Wagon vs 2021 Audi A4 Allroad

The 2022 Volvo V60 Recharge Wagon and 2021 Audi A4 Allroad are two extremely capable vehicles designed to take you from point A to point B as quickly as possible while being environmentally friendly. There are few differences between the two wagons. They are both standing on the same platform. The Audi is the winner when it comes to luxury and amenities. The safety features found in Volvos are more extensive than those found in Audis. A Volvo V60 is a great choice if you're trying to find a large space combined with an efficient engine.

2022 Volvo V60 Recharge Wagon vs the 2021 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Wagon

Both the Volvo V60 Recharge wagon for 2022 and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class wagon for 2021 represent the direction in which the automotive industry is moving; towards environmentally friendly, plug-in electric cars. The Mercedes E-Class boasts a more powerful powertrain and even provides its customers with more features than Volvo’s. With a bigger engine and a much more powerful transmission, the E-Class Wagon has a slight performance and space advantage. Furthermore, the E-Class Wagon has space for seven passengers and is packed with a lot of safety features. It is also more expensive than the Volvo V60 Recharge Wagon.

2022 Volvo V60 Recharge Wagon Final Verdict

The Volvo V60 Recharge Plug-In Hybrid Wagon is a mid-size wagon for the crossover set. It combines the looks of a sporty hatchback with the utility of a small passenger van that's been converted into a larger wagon by a particularly stylish Scandinavian designer. The plug-in hybrid powertrain provides a healthy dose of electric range and adds a bit of spark to what would otherwise be an entirely conventional vehicle. In our view, it's a better choice than the smaller, more expensive Tesla Model S for drivers looking for a quick plug-in hybrid wagon. Although it still needs larger batteries, the Recharge has enough all-electric range to be useful in city driving.
