Go with the 2018 Volvo V90 Inscription T6. It comes with the all-wheel-drive system and fitted with the right tires it can take on any weather condition. T6 is a 2.0-liter 4 cylinder that is turbocharged and supercharged. It churns out 316 horsepower and 295-pound-feet of torque and matches nicely with the already refined V90’s handling.

2018 Volvo V90 Engine

8.0/10

“The 2018 Volvo V90 has about-average performance, with two capable powertrains but a transmission that shifts inefficiently at times. The ride quality is comfortable, and the V90 handles well with precise steering and little body roll. Fuel economy with the twin-turbocharged engine is low for the class” - Cars.usnews.com

Engine and Transmission

The Volvo V90 comes with two engine options, T5 and T6. The T5 is a 2.0 L Turbocharged four-cylinder engine with front wheel drive layout. It produces 250 hp of power and 258 lb-ft of torque. The all-wheel-drive T6 trim gets a 2.0 L Turbocharged and Supercharged engine that churns out 316 hp and 295 pound-feet of torque. Both the engines are mated to an 8-speed Automatic transmission.

The base engine has got sufficient power for most of the daily needs. However, the twin charged engine is a better fit and provides instant power for highway cruising. The eight-speed automatic transmission feels slow to downshift at a lower speed.

8.0/10

“The V90's wagon profile makes it look sleeker than the S90 sedan, a looker in its own right. The concave shape of the grille and the detailing from the lighting elements to the use of brightwork match the level of elegance inside”- Kelley Blue Book

2018 Volvo V90 Competition

Volvo V90 vs Mercedes-Benz E400 4matic

The Mercedes-Benz E400 4Matic has a major advantage of accommodating 7 passengers in a car with almost the same dimension as of the Volvo V90. As an all-terrain vehicle, the Mercedes gets a bigger capacity engine than the Volvo. It's also faster in a quarter-mile and has a better 0-60 MPH numbers. Mercedes also offers better cargo capacity than the Volvo. But, if you are looking for a standout car with a premium built and finish. Consider Volvo V90 before going for any other car.

Volvo V90 vs Audi A4 All road Premium.

Audi is smaller, more powerful and more athletic than the Volvo V90. Both the cars have almost the same passenger volume but, the Audi Allroad gets more cargo capacity though being the shortest. The cabin inside the Volvo V90 is more plush and rich. Audi also costs a few thousand dollars less and is a better value for money vehicle.

Volvo V90 vs Subaru Outback 3.6R Limited

If you don’t want to spend much and get all the utility as available in the Volvo V90, the Subaru Outback 3.6R Limited is the best choice you can make. It also gets high ground clearance and standard all-wheel drive which makes it a perfect vehicle for an outdoor family trip or going for some off-roading adventure. If you are tight on budget and need a value for money vehicle, go with the Outback.
